Following 2016 potential draftees

His usage rate is so high stats come to him no matter what. Even in his no-show game vs Middle Tennessee in the NCAA Tourney he almost had a triple double.

Do you know what players have the highest usage rates? Guys who are good at basketball that's who. His 2 pt percentage was 48%. Athletic players like your boy Baldwin are worse so....

Doesn't get to the free throw line is a legitimate concern. Neither does Rodney... His ability to make threes and attack close outs may be more valuable in the NBA than creating mid range twos.

Baldwin actually gets to the FT line at nearly twice the rate though despite averaging less minutes and shot attempts

That's great but he doesn't shoot the three as much or as well doesn't rebound or get as many assists and is equal in turnovers despite not having as high of a usage rate. Baldwin is a fine prospect but has flaws too.

I think Valentine is such a good shooter and is a good enough passer that he will be more efficient with the fewer possessions he uses. The fact that he rebounds so we'll shows me he understands how to use his average size and athleticism to get above average production. He won't have to take the bad floaters and nba courts have better balance. He won't be a bust.

He is also 2.5 years younger, potentially an elite defender for his position (and possibly the 2-guard as well), his shooting is much farther along than Valentine's was at his age, and his playmaking will translate better to the NBA than Valentine's will.

And Valentine's rebounding numbers are probably inflated due to the fact that they actively hid him on defense, allowing him to attack the glass more often than a player like Baldwin who is playing pressure man defense.

Every stat Valentine gets is a result of situation I guess (according to Cy). ****ing Izzo prolly put the ball in the basket for him on all those threes he shot.

He's been around 8 or 9 rebs. per 40 his whole college career. I doubt they were hiding him so actively when he was a freshman.

He's a fine prospect, but he has flaws. I just wanted to point those out and used him as the example because you've stated your opinion of him before.

He struggles with some of the same problems Valentine has with getting separation and making 2 point shots. He has the tools to be a good defender, but that will likely depend on attitude and drive.

It's just funny how Valentine is viewed to me.

It'd be much different if we were talking about him as a 20th pick or later.

Layman?lmao He wont be on an opening day roster

I feel the same way about Valentine as I do Draymond. I knew Green would be good, didn't think this good but I knew with hisiq and the way he was coached in FOUR years of college that he would be ready. Valentine is ready and has the IQ, He is a coaches son and he has lived in his hometown his whole life. he is eating moms food at moment. Bet you his bodies chancges when he moves and gets on a nba diet.
