Following 2016 potential draftees

I just don't see that type of positional flexibility, he's gotta grab more boards this year for me to buy that he can do so in the league.. Draymond Green can slice thru the defense in the NBA, I don't think Hayes is that type of quick.

My questions mainly are about how he will do once the players are taller, and react faster. I just don't see enough pep in his step..

If he can also increase his ast's while keeping his FG% at 50% and maintaining the 3pt accuracy, I'll certainly re-evaluate my stance. As of now he seems like a Poor mans Millsap IMO, who's not nearly the same factor on the boards.

Trey Lyles getting drafted can't be a good sign for the Jazzfanzers hoping for Hayes (just saying).. right?

Green wasn't some great rebounder in college.

3.3
7.7
8.6
10.6

Obviously Hayes isn't as good but Hayes could end up near those numbers and has a lot of flexibility, maybe even playing some 2.

Is your name in reference to the rap group from Kentucky?

I see Murray is not on the Tito Marchand Tournament roster for Canada so I would assume he is out for the Olympics. Hanlan is on the roster so he has a chance to make the Fiba Americas roster. Looks like they have one cut to do before the big tournament.

Damien Jones wont be the only player at Vanderbilt worth keeping an eye on. Sophomore, Wade Baldwin IV, Karl Towns old HS teammate, could prove to be an interesting option in the 2nd round for the Jazz, or a legitimate sleeper. Top-5 in the SEC in assists and 3pt% last season. 43% from 3, 80% from the line and a 4.5:1.9 ast/to ratio.

DX has his last measurements in 2012 at 6'1½" without shoes and a 6'10" wingspan. They have him pegged at 39 in 2017, I like him better than George De Paula so I'm posting him in the 2016 thread.

Here's some dated footage from HS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjlTz_i7XPY

Justin Simon incoming freshman could be the same sort of sleeper type player, Wade is probably a much better shooter though.

Baldwin is probably most famous for the incident with Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings who said "I'm going to ****ing kill you" after Baldwin was displaying some poor sportsmanship after a win.

Could Tyler Ulis be the next Isaiah Thomas sized player to make it in the NBA?? 43% shooter from 3 and almost 4:1 ast/to ratio are both much better than Thomas ever posted in 3 years at Washington.

This latest footage looks like he's been hitting the weights. As Thomas did to get drafted.

You sure do your homework.

Ulis is VERY cerebral, focused, and hard-working. He's a kid that screams over-achiever for his size.
I just don't know that he has the size for the NBA. How big is Thomas? I can't imagine Ulis isn't considerably smaller (overall).
Ulis, however, is the man. If he comes back next year I would put him toward the top 5 players in the country (college).

Eh its baseball season which gets more boring by the year to me... I search for basketball stuff in between pitches.

do you have a guesstimate on his current weight? Thomas is marginally taller than Ullis IIRC, and Ulis has longer arms. There seems to be a big difference between their weights though as Thomas was nearly 190lbs with 7% body fat at the combine.

yeah, Ulis is around 170.

He's badass and I'm pulling for him. It pisses me off that a kid with 1/10th of his acumen and work ethic can succeed and he may not... but he may not.
