I wish Rudy would develop his hook shot to that level, but I'm still not convinced that he's going to be better than Ellenson.

If they're both on the board, I'd take Ellenson and not even look back. P3 to develop his body, Quin to teach him defense and let him back up Rudy as a stretch 5 (though to be honest, I'm not sure he can play with Lyles). I just think that Ellenson's versatility is going to make him a really solid player moving forward.

At #12, I'm happy to let them pick their top rated player and hope Quin can develop him. I think the Jazz are much better off getting ridiculously talented players and then trying to get them up to speed. I'd much rather see them swing away for home runs (even if they strike out from time to time.)

I won't lie. He doesn't look great on boxscores, but a lot of it was him not getting a lot of chances, I hated seeing him get yanked out of games on the first mistake he made. His stats per 40 are not horrible. He's at 17/8 with 4.2 blocks and above average TS%(54%), especially for a player that shot so many mid-range jumpers(2/3 of his shots were mid-rangers and he shot them exceptionally well - 45%). He shot 52% from the field with 66% of his shots coming from mid-range(!!!!). All that with horrible strength and underdeveloped body.

I know I won't be able to sell him to a lot of people, but I still love him as a prospect.

His stats are inflated against some really bad teams where he had good games. His SEC numbers are terrible.

His conference numbers are almost identical to his average(per 40) - 16.1/9.2 with 4.5 blocks per 40. 51% shooting from the field.
 
You're really just looking at a bunch of potential in a guy like Skal. I don't know if I would have him #4 like stitches but add a bunch of weight and strength to that guy and he looks like he has the potential to be a beast. Possibly way off on this but I see a really skinny (current) Derrick Favors.

I think he has much better touch, both around the rim and from mid-range(with potential to extend to 3p line). I was thinking of a comparison, but I can't really get a good one. A lot of his play is similar to Myles Turner - pick and pop midrange jumpers, turnaround jumpers, good rim protection, but their movement is completely different - Skal is actually smooth and quick mover(where I think his biggest upside lies) and very athletic.

I actually feel about Skal the way I felt about Myles Turner last year - I loved him and I thought with time he'd be great. Both have the rare combination of being able to protect the rim and stretch the floor. The players in the league with that combination of skills can be counted on the fingers of 1 hand. Now add great touch on his hook and potential as a post player and you are looking at a pretty special player. The biggest problem, again, is his toughness and strength. I don't think he's as ready to contribute as Turner was last year.

I don't know how this type of quickness and movement and skill from a 7 footer doesn't excite people.

Alright you're right that looks nothing like Favors. Didn't realize he could step out.
