Following potential 2012 draftees

I have a hard time seeing any scenario where the Jazz select MKG in this draft unless he drops below his projected range and the Jazz have no choice (think Ronnie Brewer).

Oh please be wrong.

I’d love to finally get a player like MKG, but to keep it real, we’ll probably end up with a Quincy Miller or Harrison Barnes.

"end up with" Harrison Barnes? I like MKG a lot but I also like Barnes too. I haven't decided which one I'd take, if given the choice. I expect the Jazz will probably be left with only one of them, rather than both. That's fine with me as long as KOC takes him.

I didn't mean for Barnes to sound like a boobie prize. He would be a nice fit for this Jazz squad who desperately needs shooting, but I tend to agree with those who see him as more of a spot-up shooter, rather than a Dwayne Wade type who gets to the rim and puts a ton of pressure on defenses. If the Jazz draft that high, I'm just hoping for a superstar.

If that's true, pray for Barnes .. I think Miller has flop potential (even though he has unreal ability).

I like the way Barnes fits in with what may be the future of the team. If Hayward is to be a ball handling, play making SG, Barnes would compliment him as a spot up shooter who can score from anywhere on the court in a variety of ways (they may not all be efficient as of now, but he appears to have a lot of moves). He is also a pretty good defender who has the body to handle power SF's.

I also view Barnes as the most offensively mature player in the draft. It seems like he could come in right away and average 12-15 ppg and start. I think that would be important because our team is so young we don't really need anymore project players. That would be my one fear in getting Miller.

agree with all that

I can see how MKG would fit in too. The defensive player who brings it, also is good at slashing, finishing, and drawing contact. I guess it all depends on his outside shot. Also, how would he do in a half-court offense? Seems like a worst case Brewer, best case Marion.

Davis and Gilchrist. Just giving these two some props. In their last two games (#4 Louisville and Ark Little-rock) they've outrebounded the entire other team. Totals are 55 to 47 for the two games.

Sorry, but that's just wow.

I don't think Barnes' ceiling is much higher than 12 - 14 ppg though. I'd need to see Barnes score against some athletic defenders to believe he's going to do better in the league than Evan Turner.

No way, I see Barnes being on Luol Deng's level. Barnes will be able to average at least 16-18 ppg at an efficient level.
