Same here. His passing is going to translate well in the NBA but I just really wish that his shooting could be fixed. Even if it's not 40% from 3...I just want his shot mechanics fixed.
I could get there under two conditions;
1) we trade down, get something of value, and pick him up outside the lottery
2). With another pick, get Miller or Barnes
If we can't get a SF shooter than I think Marshall is a poor pick up for the Jazz. Not sure what good it does to pick up a pass-only guy if we have no one that can hit a damn shot.
NOT the '12 draft ('13), but check out Nerlens Noel. He just reclassified from the prep class of '13 to '12 and many recruiting analysts are saying he'll likely bump Shabazz from the #1 spot in the rankings. One NBA scout said he's the best shot blocker he has EVER seen. 6'10 ... not necessarily a Jazz need or potential get .. just going all OT on y'all.

Wow. It takes a lot to impress me and after one minute, i was extremely impressed...a great handle for a guy 6'10"...he moved in a very quick, yet seemingly effortless manner, had a few great passes, attacked the rim off the dribble, and most importantly, had a kickass fro.
Some players I'm curious about...not sure if they've been mentioned much. Thoughts on them?
1) Tyshawn Taylor...5.1 assists...47.9% from floor/43.1% from three...poor FT shooting but he could improve there based on his other numbers I'd think. Assuming his ceiling isn't so high.
2) Hollis Thompson...47.5% from three...6'8"...5.5 rebounds per...insane shooting for a 6'8" guy who can rebound some.
3) Jae Crowder...6'6"...16.2 points on 50% from the floor, 7.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.0 blocks...only 1.2 turnovers...very well-rounded...Marquette seems to produce fundamentally sound, selfless guys who care about winning. This guy intrigues me the most from the little research I've done...I'm not saying with a top 10 pick but still.

Sort of reminds me of a better Shawn Kemp. A post-up game, great timing on his shot blocking, everything about him looks just very natural. Can he shoot at all? If he could develop a shot, he'll be sick.

43% is not blistering at the collegiate level. A ton of guys do it.
Tyshawn won't do anything in the NBA. Doesn't have the drive and he has gotten suspended for off-court stuff each year he's been at Kansas. I have zero faith he'll amount to anything more than a poor backup.
Hollis is promising. He needs to tighten up his dribble to be at all effective in the NBA, needs to get stronger, but I see him being able to play .. don't see starter on a decent team.
Crowder I like. I worry about his size as he tends to play a bit closer to the rim. I'm unsure what position he would play, but he's got a very well rounded game. I've been impressed.

Can someone please talk me off the ledge. After games like last nights for the Jazz, I am worried that it doesn't matter who the Jazz add to their line up, things will still be the same. Let me explain, I was listening to DJ and PK this morning (I know that a lot of you do not like PK at all, but hear me out) and Pk mentioned something that was though provoking for me. He mentioned that Hayward only played 16 minutes last night because he was struggling. Then he went on to ask why Millsap and Jefferson didn't have their minutes cut more because they were struggling also. Last night Millsap played 24 minutes and was -20. Jefferson played 28 and was -12. The Jazz as a whole were not going to win that game. Favors played 18 and was +2. In all fairness Kanter played 20 and was -14.
My point is why do we even care about who the Jazz draft this upcoming draft? Are they going to get the same treatment that the current young players are getting? I was say yes. If that is the case then it is going to be closer to 4 years before we see in drastic improvements in these kids and by that time we could be losing Favors or even Hayward and possibly others.
