The kid is what 19 years old and you act like he has zero chance of being able to score in the NBA. I agree he will never be an elite scoring but he can be a 17 -18 pt scorer with 7 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals and an all-defensive team candidate. I think he will draw a lot of fouls and get to the line.

All of Calipari's PG's struggle at the beginning of the season. Knight was averaging 5to's per game the first 15 or so games. Wall was a mess the first dozen games.
I'm not real high on Teague, but I think he's undervalued at this point. I like him low to mid 20's as well.
I mean this the right way, but I'm surprised at your response. I would have expected a complete indictment of Teague's game. You're okay sometimes.

Darius Miller would be outstanding value in the late first or early second. It’s not super-sexy, but he’s a safe pick, fills a serious need on the wing and will be NBA ready from day one. Pending the development of Burks and Hayward, I could see us clamoring for Miller to start by early 2013.
Not a Teague fan, however. He’s decent across the board, but would have no business starting over Devin Harris. He has the look of a serviceable backup/spot starter, but that’ s no help to a team in the hunt for a franchise point guard.

I don't understand the love for Darius Miller and his extreme mediocrity throughout his 4 years at UK. I like him as a 2nd round pick, but I wouldn't use a 1st on him when there are about 4 FA we can sign who do exactly the same thing he does.

Yeah, I would probably rather keep Carroll instead. Better defender, better rebounder, better hustle.
But we should all applaud Miller for taking a back seat to freshman every year of his career.

Better defender? At this point I would say yes.
Better rebounder? Undecided. Davis, Jones and MKG hogged all the rebounds.
Better Hustle? Yes to Caroll
With that being said, Miller has a higher ceiling and his ability to shoot outweighs the things that Carroll has over him. I would guess that within a years time that we will all see that Miller is the clear favorite to get more playing time.
On a side note, Miller's willingness to take whatever role was asked of him is a skill. It take some mental strength and discipline to do whatever is asked of you while not ruining the locker room. I know that you used this as a negative but I see this as a huge positive. If Millsap had this mentality then the Jazz would be sitting pretty next year and this logjam at the 4/5 position would not be as big a concern as it is right now.
Both players have 4 year college careers to judge their rebounding on. Carroll > Miller.
If Millsap had that mentality, he wouldn't be the player he is today.
I would rather just take more of a risk, on anybody really. We already have the safe 5th man role player in Carroll.
