For Hayward to reach 15 ppg this season, he would have to average 18.1 ppg for the rest of the season.

I see Miller and Hayward as two different players. I see Miller playing like a young Danny Manning, who beats people and makes plays out of the high post or the baseline with his length, touch and versatility. I see Hayward as being an imitation of Jeff Hornacek or Manu Ginobli running all over the place like a whirling dervish setting up players and cutting to the hoop to finish if he has the confidence. The way Miller would play could be very similar to the way Josh Howard is playing now. Maybe it's because Miller is still recovering from his injury to some degree. Alec Burks could also be a whirling dervish too, btw.

Well...


There goes that thought. Lol. Ill be happy with 12-13PPG, then. As far as I can tell, I feel like Hayward can maintain 14-15PPG for the rest of the season, meaning hell probably be in the 13ppg territory by the end of the season.

I think the lift a person gets on their shot is the most overrated thing in basketball. I don't know how lift itself is actually a positive if you rely on it. Isn't the entire mantra of becoming a good jump shooter consistency in how it's done? The easiest thing to shake when it comes to consistency is the jump itself, and as you age, that lack of lift will be even more problematic. The more air you need, the harder it is to make consistent, and the worse your shot ages.

If jump-shots were prone to being blocked, this might be a more important issue. Having a higher release point and a quicker release is more important there than lift anyway.

I consider this an area of strength for Quincy Miller (in that he doesn't require lift to shoot), personally (although a tangent).

Pretty good points here. The way veteran bigs stay in the league (Okur, Thomas, Bonner, etc) just by being able to hit flat footed long jumpers validate the theory pretty well.
 
Q miller has been my guy for a while I think he is the best fit. I love mkg just not a great fit. Barnes is just a shooter. Miller does a lot more besides he would be great marketing for the millers.
 
This was an observation from a lowly Bobcat fan on Drummond. Good for a chuckle:

i refuse to get my hopes up about davis. i know we are not going to get that 1st pick. so i better try to get excited about the 2-4 spots. i watched drummond the other night and i was like "he isnt so bad, looks half decent" until i realized i was looking at the wrong guy. drummond was the other big guy who was doing absolutely nothing.

I've gotten the same impression the few times I've watched Drummond play.

I think most here (including myself) like the idea of Miller on the Jazz. We better cross our fingers that his stock doesn't rise too much.
 
Okay so consensus around here is Q Miller. If we have 2 1st rounders who do you guys like with the second? I hear Austin Rivers from people, but I'm not sure if you guys want him for a PG or SG. If he could be a PG I like that, if he turns into anything Steph Curry like I think that would be an amazing pickup for us.
