So looking at a recent mock, I saw two first round names I haven't heard before.
Moe Harkless.
Tony Mitchell.
Both are likely threes but the latter actually sounds more intriguing because of his sick athleticism, relentless motor (10+ rebounds, 3 blocks per game), and improvement, as he's shooting 56%/44%/74% as a frosh which wasn't really a projected part of his game. He doesn't have much penetration but with Burks and Hayward, I'm not sure that's as pressing a need as it once was. Mitchell sounds like an intriguing guy at 6'8" with long arms at the three for us should he move up draft boards more and a couple guys withdrawal from this year's draft.
I was talking about Mitchell a couple pages back. No idea why he isn't a top 5 or lottery pick. There's got to be something he cant do or a major weakness that is holding him back from the lottery. The dude is maybe the most athletic in the draft- 41 inch vertical. He has a 7-4 wingspan. He's also just a freshman.
He may even stay in school so h can polish his game and get into the lottery
Non-sense, but thanks for arguing. The simple breakdown is that Petrovic never broke a 20 PER (or even got that close) and that Ginobili has every single year since his second season. Ginobili is one of the most underrated players in NBA history. A better defender than Bowen and has no weakness to his offensive game. As ambidextrous a player as there ever has been on the perimeter (can operate on both sides of the floor equally, can use both hands with equal effectiveness, extremely rare).I'll argue a little
Toni kukoc
Drazen petrovic (who is one of the best)
Vlade divac (I know he played for the lakers and I hate him but he was very good)
Arvidas sabonis
Just to name a few off the top of my head and petrovic in his prime was better then Ginobili.

Petrovic was a better pure shooter. I have nothing bad to say about the guy whatsoever. But Ginobili is the better player.
Many defensive metrics disagree. There's a tendency for reputation for defense to go especially far since there aren't any great single or simple defensive stats to help people really know. Because of that, it would be just as difficult for me to prove my point. So maybe I'll just say that Ginobili is and has been a fantastic defender and could hang his hat on just that if he wasn't an almost perfect offensive player on top of that.Agree totally except that he's a better defender than Bowen. That's simply not true.

Here are a couple of videos I found on Mitchell, the last being HS highlights. His body reminds me of a taller/longer Corey Maggette.

I like what I see in that he's aggressive, athletic, defensive minded, and pretty fluid in how he moves. A rich man's Ronnie Brewer with a better shot. He's shooting less than two threes a game but 45% is 45%. As a frosh. And this tells me he knows how to pick his spots rather than chuck.
