Following potential 2012 draftees

I hate jumping into an ongoing conversation on the board, especially to post something diverting from the current conversation. So I will add my opinion on trading Enes and then post something new.

I like the Turkey, I thought Jonas had more potential, but since Enes is here I like him. I thought he played well considering his age, how long he has played, and lack of summer league/training camp --if the jazz trade Enes it will be because of personality issues not basketball.

NOw this about this years draft:
“This is a one-player draft,’’ agent David Falk told the Observer Monday, referring to Kentucky freshman big man Anthony Davis. “Picks two through eight, there’s not a lot of separation. There’s just not a lot of difference between (Michael Kidd-)Gilchrist, (Andre) Drummond or (Harrison) Barnes. A lot of teams will be looking to trade down because the difference from two through eight is miniscule". Charlotte Observer

Not really a shocker, I think they say this every year, and KOC says something like "why trade down and risk not getting the guy you want?"

kool. Now we can just trade our #8 (which we are obviously going to get) for #2-#4, and draft MKG.

I pretty much agree with the 2 - 8 thing, btw. Not exactly sure that that warrants dubbing it a 'one person draft' though.

I'd still rate Kanter as top-5 in this draft. And if he had gotten to play in college, I'd say he would've almost been a lock for top-3.

I may or may not be high.

How do you guys feel about Khris Middleton? He was pretty good two years ago, but this year he was hampered by injuries. Maybe a solid pick in the second round?

I cannot believe that KOC would consider trading Kanter for the 14th and 16th pick. The idea of including Millsap is beyond any reasonable understanding. If the Jazz trade Kanter they are admitting they screwed up so what gives anyone the idea that they are going to get the 14th and 16th pick right. If they wanted to get two picks they should have tanked the season by playing the young guys. I just think some Clutchcity nerd is having a moment of wishful thinking.
