Following potential 2014 draftees

I like exum MUCH better at the one than the two.
Burks gets bullied by shooting guards in the league and he has decent size.

D wade, harden, wes matthews, hell even finesse guys like klay thompson would push exum around and post him up and punish him all day on the defensive end.
He wieghs 185 right?

I do like him at the point guard alot though. I have always wanted to have a big long point guard with big strides and a great first step.
I think if the jazz draft exum and he is as good as his hype says he is, then we should start taking offers for trey

I agree with a lot of what you have said. If I was going to trade though, I would wait and maximize his value by playing him. I think he's going to improve a lot next season.

At the same time, I would be bummed if we parted ways with Trey. But could we make it work with Trey, Hayward, Exum, and Burks. Maybe, but most people like Hayward at the 2, which makes sense.

Ya i agree about playing trey more before trading him to get more value from him and i also would hate to see him go.

Is Gordon going to be 50% ft shooter in the nba? If so I don't want him. What good is he to us if teams just employ a hack a Shaq on him in crunch time. Plus as an explosive athlete like Gordon, he should be very good at getting to the ft line. Does this concern anyone else?

I have talked to a lot of U of A boosters who tell me that if you took Gordon to the gym right now in his warm ups he would shoot in the high 70's from the free throw line and regularly does that in practice. His poor FT shooting in games is either a mental or fatigue thing. If you watch him shoot FT's his form is fine. What he needs is a device like Malone or Hornacek had to calm him down before he hoists it up. He's only 18, I suspect that whatever the block is, it is fixable.

Chadd Ford's top Jazz picks

Parker, Wiggins, Emiid, Exum, Randle, Smart in that order. From playing lottery game a few dozen times until I could rank all versus the other.

Eh…of course it will take him some time to get adjusted, but lets look at one of the players you mentioned. Klay Thompson.

Thompson is around 200-205 pounds…skinny frame. But he's strong and wiry, does a good job on defense. Just because Burks gets pushed around doesn't mean Exum would, just because of his size. Would I prefer him at the 2 spot? Not really, but I like that he can play there if he needs to. The ability for a PG to be able to play the 1 and 2 spot is huge, IMO. It gives a lineup a lot of options.

If we draft Exum, I would imagine that we're drafting him to be our PG of the future. Now I'm not sure how Burke would handle that, but frankly, I don't care. I still like the idea of this lineup the best:

Exum
Burks
Hayward
Favors
Kanter

with Burke coming off the bench. Then depending on who is hot, we can switch out Burks/Burke at will. I really do think that Burke would make a great 6th man, since he likes to shoot so much anyways.

Well, 96 mins at the 1 and 2 which means 32 each for Trey, Alec and Exum. Exum plays half his mins. at PG and half at SG. Hayward would have to move to SF full-time since none of the others have the size to play there defensively. The problem I have with Exum is I see him causing problems if he doesn't start. I could be totally wrong but that statement about only working out for certain teams should be a huge red flag. You could start Trey/Exum and move Hayward to SF, but that would be an affront to Alec. On the other hand, I'm not 100% sold on Trey. If Exum is Stockton and Trey is Green, then you draft Exum and trade Trey after next season.

Also, the last time that Exum was official measured (that I know of) was April 16, 2013…basically a year ago.

Measured in at 6'6 with shoes, 188 pounds and had a 6'9.25" wingspan. He was ~17 at the time…I think. Chances that he has gained weight since then? Pretty damn high. There's even a chance that he has grown, or will continue to grow. I wouldn't bet on it, but there is a chance. Anyways, his size is nothing to worry about, IMO. If anything, it's one of his biggest plusses.

In reading on Exum, it seems like everybody praises his attitude and unselfishness.

You're basing all of this off of Exum saying that he would love to go to LA…and well, who wouldn't? Great market, great team history, and you get to play with and learn from one of the greatest of all time in Kobe Bryant. I would be concerned if he said he didn't want to go there. Exum has done nothing to insinuate that he doesn't want to play somewhere, and has done nothing to insinuate that he needs to start. Knock it off with this stupid ********.

What if Exum only works out for the Lakers and Magic? Do we care?
I don't think Trey worked out for the jazz, and we still traded up to get him.
exum is a bust.

you guys can stop talking about exum....kid sux ***.

This is the exact idiocy I'm talking about! You don't know **** about him. How the hell can you say he sucks or a bust, because you have no idea his style of play, his heart or attitude or weaknesses other then he plays against weak competition.
