I expect a slightly more intellectual response from you than that... and that is a compliment to you.
It's not overrated. It has become way overhyped .. even for an incredibly impressive draft class.
Parker is the most sure-fire prospect that I've seen in the 6 years I've been paying attention. That's not nothing. Wiggins is possibly the most athletic besides also being very good already. Embiid is the best big prospect I've seen in that time as well.
This draft might not be 10-superstar deep, but those top-3 alone dwarf the outset of any draft I've followed closely.

Every year I get excited about a college PF with stand-out athleticism who can score the ball--Beasley, Derrick Williams, TRob, etc., and every year they disappoint.
I'm starting to agree with Numberica's basic rankings and could see Randle slipping behind Exum and Smart to the 5 or 6 spot, unless PF is a compelling position of need for a top lotto team.

and this thread has been VERY focused on the top 5.. there is some very good talent throughout the 2nd round.. we just haven't analyzed it here.
Embiid looks to me like the most exciting "true-center" prospect in college since Greg Oden. I see Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond as PF/Cs.
I started that, not numbs. He's a coattail rider.

PF is the position where style of play swings, but I generally don't think you want your best player there. What I'm trying to get at is that you ideally want your PF to be a good defensive player, spread the floor, or otherwise be able to exploit a mismatch (particularly large/powerful or work a lot on the perimeter). Julius Randle doesn't seem to possess any of those qualities (and neither does Aaron Gordon).
Julius Randle was billed as this PF with ample perimeter ability, a good jumpshot, and with plenty of athleticism to spare. I haven't seen any of that, although I admit to being plenty naive. What I see is a bruiser that isn't very big, very fast, or very explosive, and he doesn't seem have a great jumpshot or defensive ability either.
