Following potential 2014 draftees

I think Lindsey knows Pritchard too well. He drafts Embiid and his knees don't work while passing on league dominating guards and wings he's unemployed very soon and has to take a step back in the pecking order for the for the next decade until the next opportunity opens up. Embiid is too much risk. Especially when you already have Favors.

This is a pretty good post but one thing I might add is that favors has foot problems (plantar faciaitis) and back issues so maybe lindsey drafts embiid BECAUSE we have favors

I'm not sure what I think about WCS. I think I've resigned myself to no opinion in fear of too much familiarity.

What I see at the collegiate level;
- legit 7'
- extremely mobile
- extreme athlete for 7 footer
- good hands
- ELITE motor (relentless and never takes a play off)
- Very good shot blocker
- Average rebounder (hard to tell with Randle, Poythress, and 6'6 guards all grabbing boards)
- very good in transition

Havjng said that, overall I'm just not really high on him and don't know why. Notice I didn't really list a negative/weakness.... he just screams average big to me.

If he's anything close to Larry Sanders with a better lockerroom personality and better haircut, then he's a hell of a pickup around #10.

Very good post, PB&J. thanks for your input... I tend to trust my analysis of UK players a bit less than non-UK players.

but lets call a spade a spade.

WCS was outplayed by Isaiah Austin, and Embiid was outplayed by Patric Young...

im not going to say these players arent worth their ranking, i just wonder if your going to select one of these players in the lotto is it out of positional need or potential, or my biggest concern would be are you leaving a better player on the board to chase height

also from the perspective of the jazz i think Kanter deserves to show what he can do after a healthy offseason in his contract year before his replacement is selected, im not sure displacing Favors to the PF will be beneficial, and im not sure the jazz dont want to play with 1big and 1 stretch 4..

I'm not concerned about that. The thing that concerns is that he doesn't seem to understand team defense concepts, rotations and now being 3 months healthy he should have picked up on his fitness/strength. I can understand that the injury prevented him from expanding his offensive game and stuff but BBIQ and fitness should still be on display.

The NBA is litered with franchises who continually go after the centers in the draft. It cursed the Jazz for years who seemed to go for stiffs continually.
