- legit 7'
- extremely mobile
- extreme athlete for 7 footer
- good hands
- ELITE motor (relentless and never takes a play off)

- Average rebounder (hard to tell with Randle, Poythress, and 6'6 guards all grabbing boards)
- very good in transition

Havjng said that, overall I'm just not really high on him and don't know why. Notice I didn't really list a negative/weakness.... he just screams average big to me.

His lack of offense makes it hard to get real excited about. At the same time he actually knows his limitations and doesn't take bad shots. That's more than you can say for a lot of big men. Pretty good value around 8 in the draft.

WCS, from what I've seen, plays off of other guys, gets put-backs and hustle plays, etc. I'm not sure he's got scoring moves you can build around. He probably needs to gain some weight to play center, but right now he's still raw. He could be a Bebe Noguiera-type player or develop into a DeAndre Jordan-type center. I'm not seeing enough IQ and assertiveness to think he's more than that right now.

im not going to say these players arent worth their ranking, i just wonder if your going to select one of these players in the lotto is it out of positional need or potential, or my biggest concern would be are you leaving a better player on the board to chase height

also from the perspective of the jazz i think Kanter deserves to show what he can do after a healthy offseason in his contract year before his replacement is selected, im not sure displacing Favors to the PF will be beneficial, and im not sure the jazz dont want to play with 1big and 1 stretch 4..

Kanter doesn't really have the length or the hops to be a rim protector. On offense, he still depends on fakes and mid-range jumpers that he seems keen to settle for. Embiid has more physical talent and length to be a dominant player on both sides of the ball. Plus Embiid looks like an underrated passer. He definitely looks like a guy you can run an offense through. I like Kanter, but he doesn't look like a franchise guy. To me, Kanter is a PF who spaces the floor a bit and can score inside and out. Nice 2nd or 3rd option.

You really can't take one game and then come to the conclusion that we might be reaching. Patrick Young is a senior so he should outplay a young inexperience freshman in Embiid. You take the best BPA unless their is little or no difference between two players then you look at team need.

would the jazz really take a center with the tanked lotto pick? the void currently being filled by other teams rejects /"cap casualties"/ a 27year old jeremy evans is not the top priority? or perhaps maybe the jazz dont plan on matching offers for Hayward

just seems destined that the jazz take a SG, SF or PF with that pick, i believe if they took a center first pick thats basically the deathknell for kanter on the jazz

I see it differently. I can't see the Jazz taking a PF. I think the Jazz have the PF covered with Favors, Kanter, Marvin and Evans. The only natural center the team has is Gobert and he isn't ready for big minutes even though I think he should be getting some minutes at center. I am not saying the Jazz wouldn't draft Randall if he were available but I think it would be the end for Marvin since he isn't under contract. Right now Embiid is number #3 on my board but he is pushing the others for the top spot.

Why are we wed to our current players? I see favors at his contract sticking around, but everyone else is a question mark.

If Kanter's d doesn't improve he be an backup big or trade bait.

If burks isn't happy with his role, then can be moved.

If Hayward wants too much money- move him or let him walk.

We don't have a can't miss player.

I think it's because our backups are the worst in the league.

Trey Burke is more like a Jameer Nelson or Mo Williams like PG. Ok but not great. His lack of assists is actually becoming pretty alarming to me.

How did you get that I was married to any Jazz player from my post? The discussion was about whether the Jazz should take a center in this draft. Someone mentioned that Embiid was a center but he thought the Jazz should take a PF. I simply stated that the Jazz have the PF currently covered very well.

I never said I was married to any player, I actually have posted the idea that the Jazz should trade one of the three (Burks, Hayward or Kanter) because they are not going to be able to pay all three. I would be fine with trading anyone on the Jazz including Favors if the deal made us better. I am not a typical Jazz fan who thinks we can trade garbage and get a superstar in return nor do I think the Jazz have to overpay to get another Core player.

I would trade Hayward if it would land us a top 5 pick simply because I think he wants too much money and I believe he has the most value around the league. Even with that, I doubt any bottom 5 team is going to give up their draft pick for Hayward either. Right now it would be difficult to move up to a top 5 pick in this draft without over paying.

The question the Jazz have to answer is who are they going to re-sign and if they aren't going to re-sign a member of the Core5 then can they move an asset for another asset?
