Following potential 2014 draftees

Is no one else on this thread? I'm feeling a bit lonely.

Oh yeah, I forgot that PKM isn't around as much otherwise I'm sure he would get on here and tell me that I'm dumb for one reason or another (maybe UGLI can help him with that).

LOL!

I promise I said these mean things to you before I even saw this post. Well done.

OGbro, you study the draft too much and fall in love with mediocre talent.

Trading down is almost always a mistake. This is not the NFL.

Ummmm, not quite.

Please tell me why you'd rather have Gordon, Smart, Vonleh, Harris, Saric, WCS, McDermott and Hood before Young.

TIA

Pls show me an instance where trading down in the NBA draft has worked out.

Pretty sure you were clamoring for us to land 2 rookie contract and out of the league type guys last year instead of consolidating and adding a guy like Burke.

I'll answer your question as soon as you answer mine.

I don't know if I like those players better than Young, and neither of us know if Young will get drafted after all those players. What you are saying carries no weight.

I am saying trading down in the NBA Draft is a bad practice. Pick the BPA at your pick because the assets you receive by trading down are marginal.

You're saying some hypothetical scenario where a player you like better than the players above him is for sure magically going to be available at whatever spot you want to trade down to.

I'm saying, as a Rule, never ever trade down in the NBA Draft. Just don't do it. It's been proven that you don't get enough of an asset haul.

It's pretty much always a bad idea in the NFL too. It's almost always better to just stand pat and pick the best player you have rated. If you want to aggressively move up, that's one thing. . . but trading back usually backfires.

If I liked Young that much, I'd just take him at whatever spot my pick falls at. If you trade back and somebody else snags him, well you're really screwed then. Just pick the guy you want when your selection comes up. Best policy

I do think that trading a top pick in the NFL Draft if someone throws a boat load of picks at you is a good idea though. The Rams made a killing trading the RGIII pick to the Redskins.

Serious post.

I would not take Randle before 10.
I would not take WCS before 20.
I would not take either Harrison in the lottery.
Young is the best pro prospect on this UK team... and I'd take him around 12/13.
