What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

Now after watching tens of Randle videos, I am almost certain that he will get minimum mins as a SF, maybe none at all. Especially after his first few years because he will get heavier and heavier with time with that body type. No way he can play SF if he gains another 15-20 libs.

It's not necessarily his weight(what you call heavy). It's how fast he can move that weight, how fast he can change direction, mobility. And I don't see him being mobile enough to guard SFs. LeBron is heavy as ****, but he's even faster.
Drummond is super heavy, but equally quick on his feet.

I don't even know what his current weight is. I too base my opinion on the eye test like you do. It's apparent that he is not a Lebron, not even close. Maybe he could play some hypothetical obligatory minutes as a SF with his current shape but if he ever gains another 15-20 lbs, which is very likely, he would be nothing but harmful at the 3. It's his body type and agility like you said not the numbers of his weight.

Parker at a recent pro am game. He is deceptively athletic.

Having Hayward and Jabari on the wings would be a thing of beauty. So fundamentally sound and deceptively athletic. Then you've got twin towers down low in Favors/Kanter, Burke at the helm, and Burks as a 6th man.

Here's a comment based solely on the highlight videos and Hoops Summit (i.e. a comment like 99% of all comments on jazzfanz):

Parker seems to be improving his ability to employ hesitation moves with greater differentiations of speed: slower to faster to slower. Bigger bursts.

And, he seems to be making quicker decisions about when and how to get into these moves.

I like!

it is still Jabari or bust for me.

Burke, Neto
Hayward, burks
Parker, rush or 2nd round pick
favors, McDermott, Evans
kanter, Gobert

Has anyone talked about the prospect of getting BOTH of Wiggins & Jabari??? Would that somehow not make us instant contenders for DECADES to come???

How?

- We win lottery and get #1 pick (Wiggins)

- Trade Hayward, Burks and GSW '14 and '17 picks for #4 pick in '14 (We pick Jabari, Randle was taken #2, Exum was taken #3)

Potential KILLER lineup:

Kanter
Favors
Jabari
Wiggins
Burke

If that somehow happens, I'm gonna sell our business here in NZ and move permanently to Salt Lake.
