He might be. He's just a bit undersized. Probably a specialist off the bench.
Sounds more like Embiid's chocolate cream diet.
If I take Parker I pass on McDermott. 2 combo forwards with similar qualities? You can't play both togeter and maintain good defense, but deserve more than 48min combined. Nah.
I'm still high on Adreian Payne. He's clutch as well!
Jimmer also possess those same qualities.
Something Jimmer is pretty good at.

McD is a role player in the NBA.
Can't defend anyone. Not SF's, not PF's. No one.
Can't create his own offense. His handles are non-existent, despite being a senior. Doesn't have the strength to establish low post position, nor the length or athleticism to finish over NBA defenders down low.
He's an incredible shooter who hustles and moves well without the ball. Someone like Popovich could make good use of him, but his upside is really limited in the NBA, no doubt about it.

Yeah, Nah, I wouldn't touch him. I'd probably even put him in my Marcus Smart basket - and that's saying something.

McDermott has a slow/short 1st step; in the loss vs St Johns, Jakarr Sampson was able to stonewall some of McDermotts drives way too easily, i can remember one play where McDermott took 2 dribbles from the top of the Key and Sampson took 1step backwards at the same time and was right infront of him. McDermott was held scoreless for the last 8:40 in that game
I think Doug has a chance to not be a roleplayer though, hed have to be an off the ball demon like Rip Hamilton running circles all game, his athleticism isnt as sub-par doing that
