Following potential 2014 draftees

I love that Creighton has a senior starter on their team that has taken like 5 2-pointers this year compared to over 100 3pointers. And he has done that every year.

Your hate for Smart is so retarded. I understand if you don't think he's going to be an All-Star, but grouping him with someone who doesn't have the potential to be anything more than a role player? Come on.

For the record, I wouldn't mind Smart in the 20s. But not in the late lottery and definitely not in the top 5.

I would take smart around 9th

Well if you're picking someone in the lottery I think you either want him/her to be your starter or a solid 6th man...

I personally wouldn't trust Smart to run my team as a starter and I don't think he can score enough to be a solid 6th man.

Sounds like most of us are just assuming McDermott isn't tough. According to the DX scouting report, he is pretty tough and gives a lot of effort on defense. Not a Jimmer type super-star who completely coast on the defensive end.

It's not that he doesn't try, it's that he's just insanely physically limited. That, combined with his inability to create his own offense and his tweenerness...? I can see him putting up 15ppg in the right system, but not much else. He's a role player. That's not a terrible thing, but it just means I wouldn't touch him in the top 10.

I actually think I'd take Stauskas over McD.

Spy is right. Mcdermott has no handles. He can develop some tho. However, if the normal rate is the rate at which G-Time develops them, then he never will.

Harpring could play 2 positions when he first came over. He was a great pickup until he started having knee problems. Definitely agree on him being more athletic. He was also tougher. Did you know he used to play football?

But unlike Matt, McDermott has an ELITE skill; he's a lights-out shooter. If a team has enough other assets and can use McDermott strictly off the bench or in certain key spots they're going to get a helluva deal. But if a team needs him to be a 3rd option and start, then no, he wouldn't be a good pick for them. He'll go late lottery-teens. If he falls a bit, I could defintely see Phoenix taking him at #18.

Maybe Mike Dunleavy w/o monster contract is a fair comparison?

I always assume players who wear t-shirts under their jerseys are soft too.

sounds about rite

how about McDermott is the love child of Kyle Korver and Matt Hapring?

And Mike Dunleavy Jr. It was a 3some and none knows who the father is.
