What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

You're selling Anthony Davis low. 2 years from now you'll wipe your eyes and see the guy who's slowly coming after Kevin Durant for the crown as the best active basketball player on the planet.

I'm in no way talking about Davis today. This is all pre draft certainty.

If you're telling me you were sure Davis would be a sure thing like LeBron, Howard etc I'm calling you a liar.

Exum's the real deal IMO.. now that Embiid has injury concern I'm gonna go with:

Wiggins
Jabari
Exum
Embiid
Randle

.
.
.

Gordon, Smart, Volleyball, etc.

LOL.. just finished watching the highlight:

- more athletic than Hayward (look at that alley-hoop reverse dunk at 1.23min, don't think Hayward can do that)

- better 3pt shooter potentially (43% for the year)

ive been trying to tell everyone about Hezonja since last year!!! those highlights i posted from the other day are really encouraging, hes added some muscle for sure. really hoping he gets more minutes to close the season. heres 2014 highlights so far

Eh, I knew I was gonna get caught up in that argument. One I actually agree with. IMO there are tiers of "certainty":

-LeBron, Howard,Duncan, Shaq

-Davis, Irving, Paul, Dwill etc (guys that you aren't taking a gamble on but aren't like the above.

-Noah, Love, Curry, Gordon etc.

Every tier down is a higher bust potential. You have to admit that.

For every Curry or Noah there are 10 Wes Johnson's and Thabeet's. IMO, Exum could easily be one or the other. He's not a tier one or two guy in this scenario.

Fair. Thanks.

Yup I'm still excited about Randle.

Yep. Randle can't bust. He may or may not be a star, but at the very least he's going to be that SF/PF combo like Faried, Millsap, etc, who come in rebound, provide energy, good attitude, run the floor and finish. Even guys who weren't that great coming out of college like Trevor Booker and Patrick Patterson come in and give value to teams because they can do those things I mentioned above. The fact still remains, that of the big three with Wiggins and Parker, Randle is the only guy shooting over 50% FGs and getting double figure rebounds. He also gets to the FT line more than either of those guys. By mentioning those stats, I'm not saying he will be better than them, just saying he's a damn good player and also the only one of the three (perhaps the only guy in the nation) who gets double teamed essentially every time he touches the ball within 10 feet of the basket.

You could switch Hansbrough for Randle in this paragraph and everything would be the same.

Also, FWIW, he shot under 50% during conference play. Averaged something like 13 and 10. Still solid numbers, and he'll be a solid pro…but I wouldn't pick him in the top 10. Maybe not even in the top 15.

And who can't you say that about? Name me one player in this upcoming draft. TIA.

Any college player?

There is more information and you can more easily compare them to other players. We have seen their weaknesses over a season. Not saying it's an exact science, but there are more knowns in their formula than Exum's.

Randle CAN bust. He could possibly not develop his right hand, he could continue to dribble too high into traffic, and he could continue getting his **** blocked by length around the rim.

If the above is the case, he's worthless. Bust.
