Following potential 2014 draftees

What do jazz do if Embiid falls to #5? Having never had him in to check out the back or the foot?

And Chicago is not going to amnesty boozer. They could have for the past three years and didn't, and the owner has said something similar to KOC they are not going to pay a player not to play.

Also hearing Cavs were scared off by Embiid's foot, now focusing on Jabari or Wiggins (Jabari is the favorite). Unbelievable turn of events.

Really bad news for us.

Us being those who want jabari or wiggins. It will be a lot harder to trade up to 1 vs 2 or 3.

Too bad for Embiid, but for all those in the other thread who were getting on me for saying "I hadn't seen Embiid's medical report and wouldn't put him at #1"....HA!
There were red flags AFTER his workout in Cleveland. And now we hear it's also his foot. If not Greg Oden, this guy certainly looks like Sam Bowie 2.0.

DL needs to post a picture of Curtis Borchardt on the draft room wall to remove any temptation. Embiid is more likely to become a GM killer than the next Hakeem.

No, but technically Giannis, Lebron and Kevin Garnett had the same issue.

Well LeBron played against Carmelo. Then you had the whole AAU circuit to measure James against all the US top players. He was far from an unknown. Antetokounmpo was barely a lotto pick.

I'm starting to wonder if Embiid will ever be healthy.

That's what he wants you to think.

Chicago doesn't need to do that trade. They can amnesty Carlos.
DL should step in and grab the extra picks. However, he's stated the scouting staff needs to justify using the 23rd and 35th on players, so he may not want additional assets this season. If I were Dennis, I'd definitely try to get one of those picks. Cash and the 35th might be enough to do it since the 35th is pretty high, but still not guaranteed. It would be make a lot of sense for Chicago.
Chicago is cheap. They'd rather trade Boozer.

What ****ty luck and timing for Embiid... wow

Wiggins to me, has looked like the #1 pick in this draft for years now. I've never moved him from that spot throughout the process and now its even more likely he goes 1st.

Last month bettingshark,com had the odds of going 1st overall as;

Wiggins 2/3
Embiid 8/5
Parker 5/1
The Field 15/1

If anyone can find some updated June odds, I've got rep for ya.

This idea doesn't get enough burn in this thread. As far as getting great return on the asset, this option could end up a home-run.

I'd Target 2017 personally, with the GSW pick already there it gives the jazz a comfortable plan Z, to blow this team up if it isn't working by then.

though it could be a good idea to target 2016, as potential 2017 draftees are likely and rumored to be moving up a class.

Probable 2016 lottery pick, Jaylen Brown is exactly the type of player the Jazz could use.

With Chicago and Phoenix shopping their picks, the market might be soft. The future first could have lottery protection on it for a few years. Chicago and Phoenix have better picks to offer.
