Following potential 2015 draftees

I'm not quite sold on us drafting Looney at all. Seeing some of you starting to think 'let's draft him' has got me a bit nervous. This asthma issue might turn into a problem if he plays at an high attitude place like SLC. The only way I'd consider him is if Turner, Kaminsky, Booker, Johnson, Oubre and Porzingis are all off the boards.

He's not at the top of my draft board, but his measurables coupled with how well he scores in nearly every analytic makes him very tempting. Did you see how wide his shoulders are? And he can shoot from outside. Lots to like, but the asthma, of course, is a concern. I have Turner, Kaminsky, Hezonja, and Johnson ahead of him (I didn't bother listing anyone slated higher - Russell).

Just seems like a DL type pick. I could be wrong but he also seems like a chill/nice kid that would fit the culture.

He traded up for Burke, small average athlete college player of the year.

He traded into Gobert, long center who fell in draft.

Picked Exum because he was the consensus BPA.

Yeah Burke is an outlier but Corbin really pushed for him. Exum, Gobert, Hood, Leonard, and Looney all rate(d) high analytically and had elite measurables. I see a theme.

Hood didn't. Actually most projections for him were pretty bad(some had him as low as in the 60s), due to low rebounding, steals and block numbers in college. He's also not very long at 6'8.5'' wingspan(for example Devin Booker has the same wingspan). Hood was drafted mostly for his shooting, I think.

Yah, true(I personally had him really high on my board - no. 9)... I meant it wasn't because of analytical projections or freaky measurements.

I just remember DL (I think) saying it was Ty's choice. At the time, most in Jazz nation considered it a great get. And they gave Ty all the credit. Shrug. I dunno what they really thought. Jazz needed a PG and if they stayed put they would've had a choice of MCW, CJ McCollum, or Shroeder. All the mocks had Trey slated higher (further evidence for why I try not to be swayed by the mocks). But anyway, I've always thought it was a gesture to Ty, who, being the coach still, wanted Trey Burke. Ok, let him have his PG and see what he does with him. And it backfired on Ty. Maybe DL wanted to be sure the Jazz had a decent tank in preparation for the Wiggins/Jabari draft. I dunno. I do think that Ty wanted Burke and the rest of the FO acquiesced.
