I don't think he's Kyle Korver... doesn't have the quickness and I don't think he's that level of shooter. There really isn't a good comp for him because usually players that are that limited athletically don't make it in the league, but also he's more skilled, smart and crafty than a lot of the players that don't make it due to athleticism limitations. For example, with his length and athleticism he shouldn't be a good rebounder, yet his box-out technique, anticipation and timing allows him to be above average rebounder. His lack of quickness should make him strictly catch and shoot guy, yet his IQ and precision on attacking closeouts allows him to beat people off the dribble and either pull up for mid-range shots or go to the rim. He also has a knack for leak outs on fast break and he has the smarts and feel for the game to allow him to move well off the ball and make great cuts to the basket.

He's one of the weirdest prospects to evaluate simply because you never know how far his smarts and craftiness will take him and how much his lack of athleticism and quickness will limit him on the next level. At some point you would assume he'd just not be able to overcome his limitations, but that point hasn't come yet - he's excelled against pretty much any level of competition he's faced, and that includes elite European teams. Will the NBA level be too much? I have no idea... I think he's worth taking a chance on in the second round.

actually going back and watching some 2003 creighton games and considering korver is older then vezenkov they are very similar at the same stages of their lives. korver learned to play passable defense. vezenkov has I higher bbiq now then korver did then.

I feel like those Linas Kleiza comps were reasonable.
 
I can't wait to see Hezonja in the playoffs. Hopefully, it's for us. There's a very good chance that either Hezonja or Porzingis will be on the board at 8. I'd still make a stout offer to the Pistons for that pick.

TJF - why do you like Dekker? I mean, I think you said you don't know why but you must have some reasons for it. I just can't get excited about him. Catchall was more specific about Dekker's negatives than I have been - I'm just kinda vaguely not interested. Perhaps because he does nothing elite.
 
This draft season is kind of boring, not enough speculation and mis direction. I kind of miss the cavs in the lottery. They leak rumours like a sieve for their team and everyone else. Sam Amico is so boring without constant trade speculation based on a 'league source'.

If Rodney fixes his corner 3s he's a 40%+ shooter. He's actually hitting the harder above the break 3s at over 40% I think.

I think Qualls is the type of player who can make an impact in limited minutes, whether it be running the floor, defending, grabbing rebounds, 50/50 balls, or slashing, and I'm sure he can put his head down and bull his way to the rim(going right) if you asked him to. I'm not going to praise his shooting or ball-skills too much but his shot is far from J.P. Tokoto status. I think he's the type of player that could just sorta blend in and not pan out, I worry a bit what happens to his shooting if he starts out cold and I could see him sort of making those 'trying too hard' gaffes.

If he pans out though, I think he will appear as one of those "this guy is everywhere" players. Also, burying Qualls on the bench is very much different than burying the #12 pick on the bench, for Qualls it could be a blessing to start off slow and get situated.

This is a very good post.
Qualls can't shoot and has limited upside, but is effin plays a role.

U act as though Vonleh is a bust already. His season last year was ruined by injury and he was my guy before the college season was over and still think he has potential to be an allstar.

I liked Vonleh too. Fans of just about every other team are looking at Exum as a bust based on his stats. Noah and Dante weren't ready for the NBA. I think you have to give each another couple of years before seeing their trajectories.

I've been on the Dekker bandwagon for awhile. The thing that concerns me, though, is he a tweener more than a combo forward? Marvin Williams never lived up to his hype because he never really found his position. Well that and his passivity. Dekker could be a very versatile backup, or he could be a bust.

If the Jazz stay at #12, I really don't know who I want them to draft. Have DL go off the board like KOC did with Hayward. Turns out most of didn't know squat that draft.
