Following potential 2015 draftees

I wouldn't trade Favs for just the 4th pick but I think if we could get another player plus the pick then that's certainly something we would have to consider. How would you make salaries match without a 3rd team? Calderon and Junk? No thanks.

I'm strapped for time/lazy, but I don't think the Knicks are over the cap and can absorb salary.

No way Turner falls to 16. Not sure why the Heat take Oubre over Johnson, but hey you never know.

I would be pissed if we traded Favors for a draft pick. If we trade Favors for a draft pick then you for sure need to trade Hayward for a draft pick since we are starting over again.

I dont want the Jazz to trade Favors but if they do it better be for an all-star player, not some unknown draft pick who is more likely to be a bust than be better than Favors. I see very little chance that Jazz would trade Favors. He is on a great contract and plays at a borderline all-star level and likes being here.

With Russell out of reach, I really hope that we focus on moving up for Hezonja. As much as I like Burks & think he will make a great 6th man & be a steal at his contract as the cap rises, I would include him & #12 for Hezonja. Burks is likely an over-pay to move up 5-6 spots, but his value is probably limited due to his injury & contract extension. We may be able to trade up for Hezonja without including Burks, but unless we intend on playing Burks at PG, minutes could become an issue with our current glut of wings & Hezonja will likely require significant minutes even in his rookie year in order to keep him motivated. That is the risk with Hezonja but I think it's one worth taking considering our current roster structure. With Exum, Hayward, Favors, & Gobert seemingly locked in as starters, it is vital that the 5th starter is able to provide elite 3 pt shooting (which Burks, while improving in that department, is unlikely to ever provide). Hood may be able to provide that but acquiring Hezonja would give us another option as well as insurance in the event that Hayward walks in 2 years. Hezonja could be one of our last opportunities to acquire an elite scorer & if it means giving up a 6th man (Burks) & a likely role-player (#12) in order to do so, I hope we do it. Hezonja isn't without risk & replacing Burks with him may be a short-term step back, but with a strong coaching staff in place, I think the risk will payoff in the long-term & the decrease in production will be minimal due to our player development & other contributing wings.
