Looking at team needs in the 7-12 range and I have a question 'bout the pistons: With the recent trade for Ilyasova - is he a SF or PF? He could be Monroe replacement (if Monroe leaves, which is being speculated). Which would mean they have a hole at the 3.

I love the thought of Turner coming off the bench: Jazz defense remains stellar while Jazz offense has a heyday against the other team's bench.

How far do we need to trade up in order to have some security we'll get him?

Turner is a good shot blocker but I'm not sure he'll be effective on defense because he may struggle laterally.

I like him... He's pretty unique so I'm not sure what a good comp is... Not sure he fills out or is ever as smooth an athlete as JO. He may end up as a quicker but smaller illgauskas type. Hits the spot up shot... Can do some things in the post and provides rim protection but struggles in PnR.

Id rather have Johnson than Turner, but I think turner and Frank are about dead even for me now.

Good point being brought up here. They're definitely using Ilyasova as a 4. I think this changes the narrative about them needing a (stretch) big considerably. I see the Pistons as having holes through most of their roster. Who on that team is good(/healthy) besides Drummond?

7 - Denver: I don't know what they need but speculation is a wing (Winslow). (they have Nurkic)

8 - Detroit: probably going after a small forward.

9 - Charlotte: speculation is outside shooting - probably a wing (they already have a crowded front court).

10 - Miami: word is a wing. (they have Whiteside/Bosh up front).

11 - Indiana: I've heard PG and I've heard they want to replace Hibbert with a big that runs.



What are you guys thoughts?

Pistons desperately need a SF, and they're not even that great at SG with Caldwell Pope and Meeks just being average.
Hezonja, Oubre, or Johnson seem likely, almost necessary.

Probably not, because you have one team in between who could end up picking who Miami wants.

Now I'm liking Turner Oubre Dekker and Hunter. I'm completely off the Kaminsky bandwagon.

My biggest concerns would be if he was cool with the bright lights of Salt Lake City. I think his work ethic is fine.

He'll be a plus shooter and scorer if he picks his spots, and probably a plus defender as well.

Has Locke called Oubre too cool for school yet??

Let someone fall in love with him. More chance that someone like Johnson falls to us.

I'd rather go with Oubre then Johnson. He will struggle on offense while Oubre will probably be one of the better two way wings.

Probably not, because you have one team in between who could end up picking who Miami wants.

Ok but-
Jazz traded the 14th and 21st pick for Minnesota's 9th pick in order to draft Burke.
and
Jazz traded the 6th, 27th, and 30th pick for Portland's 3rd pick in order to draft D-will.

So Portland moved from 3rd to 6th and Minnesota moved from 9th to 14th. So trading up more than 1 slot is often the case. I'm just looking for the Jazz to jump Indiana (and Miami) by trading with Miami. Just wondered if you guys had any thoughts on Miami's needs and if they could fill them with by moving back two spots and grabbing second rounders in the process.

Probably not, because you have one team in between who could end up picking who Miami wants.

There's only 1 team between Miami and Utah so if Miami has at least a couple guys on their draft board then they'll get 1 of them - regardless of who Indiana picks.
