I would prefer Kaminsky to work out for us, because our FO doesn't care if he comes for a workout or not when picking. They've proven in the last several years that they will draft players that don't want to work out for the Jazz. So if he's there at 12 and we are on the clock, I prefer DL to have as much information about him as possible, and to know that whether he picks him or not - it was because they've decided so based on the best possible information they could have.
Random small trade thought... rumored somewhere, prolly basketball insiders, that the Lakers want to offload the #27 pick to defer some guaranteed salary. Would you trade the OKC pick and draft rights to Neto for it? Or OKC pick and another 2nd rounder for it?
Or do we want to pass on another rookie for this year because we already are so young.
Why would we pay more than what we get? It's no. 27 pick, it's not like it's in the teens... and you are doing them a favor? If we do it, we do it for a single first rounder - most probably OKC or GSW.
Only because they were in a higher tier. Overall I think the Jazz are done drafting players who won't work out. It generally doesn't end well (Koufas, Burke, Kanter, Exum?).
Teams are passing on these guys for reasons. If Frank Kaminsky gives us the middle finger, the Jazz will not draft the guy.
