Following potential 2015 draftees

I would be happy with drafting Qualls and putting some resources into his recovery, but I doubt that happens.

Bummer for Qualls :( Not knowing the draft rules is there any kind of weird way we could draft him and not sign him this season similar to a Euro player just to keep a roster spot open? If so I'd say at #54 he might be a good get at this point, lots of the 2nd rounders I was interested in dropped out. Richaun Holmes and Mam Jaiteh are the only two left I really like (maybe Upshaw if he sold our front office in interviews).

Still plenty of good stuff at the top end though, just not really expecting to find much in the 2nd now, oh well.

Norman Powell stands to benefit from the Qualls injury. If the Jazz are looking for that player type he's not far off, same for the other teams though..

He said in the interview after the Jazz workout that he's been working on the hitch in his shot. He also just turned 22 which makes him more than a full year younger than Delon Wright and not much older than some Juniors in this draft class like WCS, Tokoto and Tyler Harvey.

The depth of the 2nd round has deteriorated so much, I'm actually starting to think Chris Walker and Darrun Hillard might get drafted.

I think Chris Walker gets drafted.

The talent exodus has me now wanting the Jazz to invest their picks and move up for whoever they can get. Still hoping for them to move up for a big in the early 2nd (even if they take one at 12) and grab one of Jaiteh, Christmas, Martin, Alexander or McCullough. Somebody is bound to fall, but probably not far enough. If that costs both draft picks. . . so be it. Quality vs. quantity.

It's funny how a lot of people here are excited by every prospect in the top 15. I've heard a lot of people name off like 5 or 6 dudes they'd be happy with.

That's not how it's going to work out. Only a handful of players in this entire draft will be any good. If you look at any draft 6+ years old it's hard to find that many good players in any draft. Younger drafts appear to have more good players, but only because history hasn't been written yet.

This is something what this draft will look like in 6+ years

1st pick - Allstar, maybe all NBA
2nd pick - Bust
3rd pick - Allstar
4th pick - decent player
5th pick - Borderline Allstar
6th pick - Bust
7th pick - Bust
8th pick - Bust
9th pick - borderline Allstar
10th pick - Bust
11th pick - Bust
12th pick - decent player
13th pick - Bust
14th pick - Good player
15th pick - Bust

You get the picture... With maybe 3 or 4 decent players left and an Allstar maybe.

So every time I hear, I'll be happy with Oubre, Looney, Turner, Kaminsky, Booker, Portis, or Johnson, I think eh, probably one or 2 good players out of all those. If that.

All I'm saying is, you can't be excited about getting just anyone in our range.

But we can.. We have one of the if not the best training staffs in the league. Whatever prospect comes here is already at an advantage.

A lot of a players development is the situation. Look at Kawhi Leonard in San Antonio. No way he's as good if he's anywhere else.

So yeah, whoever we get I will be happy with because we have an elite training staff and I will trust DL's decision making.

Kaminsky wants no part of the Jazz. The only teams his interested in working out for are Knicks, Kings, Pistons, Heat, Pacers and Suns.
Don't know if it's true in Kaminsky's case, but Locke and Chad Ford made a great point in their podcast about how agents are driving stuff like this. They want their players drafted by teams that can provide an immediate opportunity for playing time.
