Following potential 2015 draftees

Yeah, I've been watching college basketball my whole life, before it was just prospect scouting for Jazz picks.

NBA talent doesn't equal NCAA success. Completely different things. And talent is subjective. UCLA doesn't have much legit NBA talent outside of Looney (who is a very raw talent). UCLA doesn't many great upper classmen besides Powell, and Powell is just meh (especially offensively). So unless you think Bryce Alford is a stud, UCLA is playing about how they should given their talent and age.

According to rivals, Looney, Bolden, and Welsh were all top 41 players nationally. Sounds like a pretty strong haul to me. Or are some of those guys not there or not playing?

Bolden isn't playing at all.

Welsh plays 15 mpg.

Not everyone can be UK with their Freshman.

I wouldn't write off Vonleh yet. Too early to tell.
Same reason I ridicule Otto Porter in his injury plagued rookie season. Even if it was tempting with Cy pimping him pretty hard.
Oh no, I'm not writing anyone off. I understand young, inexperienced players don't come in and star in the league and that it often takes years to become a starter. It just seemed like there was a substantial bit of hype for Vonleh, while Lyles (while getting lotsa love here) doesn't seem to garner the same adulation. I can't understand why not. He looks like he'll be a solid defender and looks much more fluid and makes quicker decisions on offense than Vonleh does/did. Not sure either one will ever have much of a driving game, despite what PKM says about his handles. Vonleh has decent handles, but no explosion to get by his man on the first step. I need to watch Lyles more to get a sense of his athleticism. Didn't really pay attention last time.

His athleticism is average. Not bad average, just average.
And how dare you second guess anything I say. Especially from you.. it's disgustingly insulting.

my second round target is alexsander vezenkov. 6-8 sf from Bulgaria. he is shooting 51% from 3 on 4 attempts per game. the dude seems to be a serious gamer.

Lyles looks like a guy who can fit smoothly in a system and perform well. I'm not saying he's an alpha dog or go-to scorer, but I think he could fit in to a high-level team and contribute every night as a versatile and complementary player. He's got a decent IQ and nice skill set. That said, I still like the top-3 guys, Porzingis, Hezonja and Winslow ahead of Lyles. I'm okay with Johnson too.

You can see what Lyles' athleticism looked like in high school. Not bad for a 6'10" guy. I'm not a fan of his candy-wack shoes though.

How would you feel about a Porter for Kanter trade?

I can agree with that also. Top three are probably going to stay that way, but then after that, I like some variation of Hezonja, Porzingis, Winslow or Johnson. Russell is quickly moving up my board also. I just want the Jazz to draft their highest rated player, regardless of need or position. I personally think that Mario Hezonja is going to be a beast down the road. He's probably the guy I'd like most that I think they can realistically get.
