Well, not really, it just means that the team that drafts him will have to pay 2M when they want to get him over to the US... The buy-out clause still applies even if he exercises his option... I think the contract was engineered by his agents precisely for the draft purposes - get him the option to opt out and leave if there is enough interest from the NBA, or if things go bad - get him some financial security and a 4 year contract past the date they had planned for entering the draft...

And I'd consider taking him over Johnson (a guy I've pimped a lot). Johnson is a good shooter and athlete, but Mario looks even better in both those categories. He's also been filling out his frame nicely. He's not as big as Johnson, but he's got good size, especially for someone that age. It's close between them, but I think Mario probably has more potential.

Very true but i think scout are going to give the nod to johnson over hezonja because he is a know commodity ans is the best player on one of the best teams in the NCAA where as hezonja is a bench player on one of the best teams in Europe. Johnson will be able to play day one in the NBA and Hezonja will need a little development.

I also think Porzingis goes before hime because teams seem to be coveting stretch 4s and he is a very good stretch 4. Size seems to always win.

I'd be good with that if that's how things shake up. Mario could be the gem people regret passing on.

You might be right. Those buyout rules for international players are not one of my strongsuites about the CBA.
 
Couldn't watch the OSU game, but I saw they have suspended Marc Loving indefinitely. That is a huge blow to their team. Dude might have been the best 3pt shooter in the Nation. Going to make ish a lot harder on Russell for the rest of the year.

And obviously Dirk.

Dirk kinda looks like the outlier of the group tbh. Most of the players outright suck, some are pretty decent, and then there's Dirk. Saying that Porz is gonna be like Dirk is pretty ridiculous iMO, they're not even similar players.
