Following potential 2015 draftees

With Kanter leaving, that opens a spot in the front court rotation and I think prospects like Porzingis and Looney become even more of a possibility for us.

Yeah I'm of the opinion that it would be damn hard to trade from 7 up to the top 3. Even from 5 to 3 could be hard. I feel like we saw it last year - a 2/3 slot drop at the top of the NBA draft is damn hard to make up. Seems to get harder every year, too.

It does feel like a top 3 pick in this draft would be a real pivotal moment for the franchise. Granted, if we don't and we suck again next year, there's always 2016. But I'm tired of saying that.

Let me pose a question for us guys. Lets say we get pick 7. If we have the chance to get into top 3 by trading the package of (#7, OKC 2017, GS2017), do we do it? Do you think any team would take that trade?

Been thinking this and have posted in a couple of the threads... We go all in is my opinion. We have good young players or prospects at every position. I love D' Angelo and think he'd be exactly what we need. I'd send those picks plus Burke, Hood, and just about anything not named Hayward, Gobert, Favors, and Exum. I think a team would bite, but you will have to overpay to move into that top tier and most of Jazzfanz will think we got fleeced.

Teams have learned their lesson on trading down out of those top spots... would take a godfather offer, but I think we have the assets and it would make sense to do so.

I think I might be crazy, but if it takes #7, our pick next year, and the other two first rounders I would do it. I think Russell is the best player in this draft and he would add a ton of exactly what we need. Mudiay might be good, but I'd rather not do the mystery man thing again... I'm tired.

Was this Russell mix posted yet?

I see why everyone likes this guy, between him and Mudiay I'd be ecstatic with either.

Edit: but Russell looks to be one of those "faces" of the NBA. His personality is nice too, I like his swag, the way he makes those plays look easy. he won't get away with those effortless passes or layups in the league though.

Me too, I'd do that in a heart beat.

But the problem is the worst teams currently in the standings are NY, Philly, and Lakers. All of which do not currently have a star PG. (Translation: It's unlikely they'll pass on Russell or Mudiay).

If the Jazz lose more due to the trade, then we can think of the trade as more along the lines of Kanter for a first, a second, Tibor and the other guy, and the right to move up a spot or two. Which is a pretty good haul. The only problem is you won't know if moving Kanter had any bearing on our draft position. So I'll just choose to believe it!

Yes, we absolutely do it. I doubt other teams would. I'd throw in Burks too.
