What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

I've heard great things about him. Every single thing I've heard about his character makes me want to get him instead of any of the other wings that might be available at our draft spot. From what I've heard he's a great team player and is willing to take on the dirty work, and all his teammates love him. I've heard that he's a gym rat, too. At this age and stage of his development willingness to fit in the system and working hard to improve are to a large extent more important than what his game looks like right now. He has all the tools, he has great size and built, he has great length and is above average athletically. I feel like with hard work and good development coaching he can excel at the next level.

His midrange game is quite horrible, but he seems to hit the 3 and is somewhat good slasher. He also is better passer than both Johnson and Oubre.

I think he may be the best raw athlete of the wing prospects. He also has the most work to do. He has very little dribble-drive game, unless the lane is just so wide open that he has no choice. He seems to pause and think about it before releasing his jumper. He just doesn't seem to be playing with much confidence right now, except when he's in the open floor. That said, I have no doubt that with enough space and time to gain his confidence, he can do the things that Ronnie Brewer did for the Jazz, and he'll also hit a three-point shot when left open. I'm afraid that some defenders won't bother to switch onto him until he proves he's a scoring threat. He'd mostly be a corner shooter, and there's nothing Winslow will do offensively that Burks won't do better or more consistently.

Winslow is a tough dude, but I think given the Jazz's needs, I might take Booker or a more offensively developed player ahead of him. As unpopular as Oubre seems to be, he's made to play the NBA game and can do a lot of what we need without even making a whole lot of effort.

Looks like we'll be choosing later in the lottery of this draft. Shucks. Whomever it is I hope he plays solid defense.

If we draft Winslow it won't be for his offense in general. I kind of think the same goes for Johnson and Oubre. I think the problems with his confidence came midseason when his shot just stopped falling and his midrange % is something like 18% or something of that sort.

To me Oubre is more raw than Winslow.

I have read that Winslow is a good guy. Having read that, I like him more than Oubre.
I read that Oubre is kind of lazy and in reading it, was kind of down on him. But careful what you read, amirite?

Have your read? Or have you read that someone's heard?

Yah, there are some issues I've read and heard about Oubre's attitude... and some about Johnson's too. And at the same time it seems like Winslow is a good guy to work with and play with. That's why I'm kind of higher on Winslow than most people seem to be.

Just by watching him, I think Oubre is a cocky 19 year-old kid who likes to show off, pose a bit and celebrate a bit in front of the camera when he makes a play. But I don't know how big a deal this is. The game comes very easy to him. He's accomplishing a lot on the defensive end for KU, and he's playing 1/3 fewer minutes than Johnson or Winslow generally. He seems like a very efficient player who mostly complements the other guys on the KU roster. I think he could do quite a bit more if he were featured more and asked to score more.

Tell me this is not intriguing:

His finishing around the rim is great and he finishes with both left and right hand. He rebounds very well... He has a bit of a eurostep developing, a bit of slashing. As long as you are not relying on him to create much offense in the half-court I think he can be very good for an NBA team down the road.

Now it appears we're picking at around 12. And if Tomic comes over we're set at C. I wouldn't mind Winslow or Looney at 12 but chances are both will be gone. I think the draft drops off after 10 or so.

I think I would give up all that.

I think the sixers should take it too. (We are probably giving up too much but sometimes you have to)

Sixers season ticket holder here.

All those are mediocre assets. The whole reason the Sixers are tanking is for the Superstar potential assets. It's why we traded MCW. Sixers already have quantity, with 7-9 draft picks this year alone (5 second rounders, up to 4 first rounders).

What I heard earlier that was interesting was Exum included in the deal with 3 firsts. If Hinkie has another deal to package Miami+Jazz up to the 6-8 range for Hezonja, I can actually see that happening. This proposal is sort of trash though.

Exum plus 3 first rounders is laughable, but I get where you are coming from.
