Following potential 2015 draftees

Yeah, even if all that's true about Johnson, he'd still be a great pick at 12 for us.

Johnson's like last year's Julius Randle. Scouts seem to look at them too hard and overthink their decision. Meanwhile guys like Turner or Looney (i.e., last year's Vonleh) gets a free pass.

BTW Oubre to me is this year's Smart... muahahahahaha..

Motor is the easiest flaw to correct imo. I do see him having trouble finishing at the rim though. Still would love to get him.

lmao motor is not the easiest to fix. I would rather try to fix mkg's jump shot then to get a kid to try harder.

Correction, if hes motor is low because hes just been better than everyone his whole life. If hes a dick head nothing will fix it. Motor can be changed in an instant though and fixing a jumper can take years.

Johnson isn't dominating anything like Randle did last year.... or even Bennett the year before that. I'm not saying he'll be a bust, but I'm not seeing how he's an elite prospect.

Honestly, if he were an elite prospect, we wouldn't be talking about him out of the top 5. He has flaws. The question is, are they flaws that can be overcome? Or will he flame out because of them. I think he's a great defender who would be rock solid on the perimeter. Don't know about his offense, but I have a TON of faith in Quin Snyder's ability to develop players. If the Jazz are lucky to steal him at 12 (or even trade up for him using Burke or a future pick) then the Jazz should be elated.

Here's a tool for international players comparisons by Layne Vashro(of course as anything completely based on numbers and not tampered with the eye test it sometimes draws weird comparisons, take with a grain of salt):
https://laynevashro.shinyapps.io/comps_intl/

Some interesting comparisons:

Porzingis ~ Bargnani/Pau Gasol
Hezonja ~ Ponkrashov/Datome/.../Joe Ingles
Vezenkov ~ Mirotic/Kleiza
Hernangomez ~ Felipe Reyes
Jaiteh ~ Ali Traore/Joel Freeland
Cedi Osman ~ Delfino/Bogdan Bogdanovic
Gudaitis ~ Alen Omic/Seraphin

BTW Vezenkov is climbing on the draftexpress board, he's currently No. 36. Is it possible he goes in the first round? The Mirotic comparison is interesting for him. His perimeter game is very similar, he also has drives in the paint similar to what Mirotic does, but I don't think he's as agile and crafty as Mirotic. He's a bit shorter as well... Maybe poor man's Mirotic?

interesting reading chad fords big board 7.0. I think scouts are already talking down players and talking up other players so they can get the player they want.

Winslow is playing better and showed he could be a decent scorer when okafor went out

Johnson's comments are pretty laughable but he has him at 12 if that happened I would be dancing outside naked painted with jazz colors.

Russell has come down to earth but he won't get the attention he is getting defensively in the nba #4 seems about right.

looney is funny because he is drafted completely on upside but #6? I like the guy but #6?

hezonja not getting the playing time due to players coming back from injury I hope he slides because out of site out of mind. the big dance is coming that can vault a lot of players and hezonja won't be playing much.

porzingis is another big bust big potential pick. he is the kind of player that can get a gm fired. think Bargnani.

I was shocked to see Justin Anderson not even in the top 30. I would give up our pick next year for him.

booker's stock is taking a hit as his shooting is cooling off.
