I think he actually has some star potential. His feel on offense is at least as good as Paul George (at Fresno St). He also has equal quickness and greater length than George. Our length on the perimeter would be stellar with Oubre, Exum and Hayward. I think Oubre should be able to guard 2s.

Hayward is pretty average in terms of length, but yeah, Exum/Oubre would be the longest back court in the league... paired with the length of Favors/Gobert down low (damn).

I think Oubre fits our defensive identity and he brings outside shooting which we obviously need (even if he's not necessarily an elite shooter ala Booker).
 
I wouldn't be upset with Oubre. It's not that I'm down on him so much in particular, I'm down on this class as a whole. Might as well take a risk on a guy who has some potential. I'm just not convinced he'll ever make good decisions, and he doesn't seem good at anything offensively - just average at a lot of stuff.

He's had some major break out performances, but yeah, he seems like he's had a really inconsistent freshman year overall.
 
I've seen very little college basketball this year, tbh, so I have no clue on any of these dudes. Not that I would have one otherwise.

Is Oubre actually a good defender, or is he just potentially a good defender?
 
Oubre is a good defender. He's quite disruptive. He could probably get a lot of steals and deflections playing in this Jazz defense.

Offensively, he wouldn't add anything initially, however.
