Following potential 2015 draftees

Can we now take Rodney off the trading block?
I'm not sure there are too many scenarios that warrant trading Hood. Well, i guess the #12 + Hood to move into the top-3 would do it. Hood is playing like Hayward-lite!

I'm ready to cut bait on Burke. He doesn't fit what we want to do either offensively or defensively. I'd rather get a bigger guard who can defend better and get all the way to the rim. As for outside shooting, losing Burke won't cost us anything.

Jerian Grant?

He's right smack where we'll be picking (now that we're slipping fast). Great size for a PG. Great passer of the ball. Would perfectly compliment Burks coming off the bench with Hood starting.

Burke went 0-8 tonight, 1-11 against the Knicks and is shooting 27% in his last 5 games. His shooting is still down a bit from last year, even though he's playing more of a bench role. We know what he does and doesn't do defensively.

I wanted to like Burke, and I was excited like everyone else when we drafted him, but I'm ready to move on.

His play is comparable to guys who are out of the league at this point.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Jerian Grant is an upgrade. I'm not sure he's the only guy to look at, but he's a dynamic offensive player with good size and strength for the PG role for sure.

As far as possibilities for the Jazz in this draft, here's what gets me excited:

- Hezonja in a Klay Thompson-type role
- Oubre in a Trevor Ariza hope-he-becomes-Paul-George-type role--except that we've got Hood, who's maybe not too far behind
- Johnson in a Draymond Green/David West-type role
- Porzingis in a Mirotic-type role
- Devin Booker in a Danny Green-type role

...and maybe Jerian Grant in a Rodney Stuckey-type role.

Then ???

We'll only finish worse than x2 teams in the lottery, the Pelicans and the Suns, meaning we're picking #12.

According to DX we're only getting one of:

- Kaminsky
- Looney
- Grant
- Booker

Not a great list....

I know y'all hate it, but Kaminsky gives us a great different look as the 3rd big. Gobert doesn't need help and Kaminsky's shot has to be respected.
Frank and Rudy could really help advance the rest of the team more quickly with having elite rim protection and a true stretch big..

Those are all bench guys for the Jazz. There's value in that, for sure, but it doesn't really change our outlook.

I think Portis is going to be a better pro than Kaminsky, though Kaminsky has a better stroke right now. I'm nervous to say Kaminsky is more than a situational player, and I don't think he can guard out on the floor. I haven't watched him much this year though. I'm going more by what I saw in the tourney last year.

I'm also intrigued by Lyles. He's a versatile player, a sleeper, and probably just a better all-around player than Trevor Booker. I think of Lyles playing a Terrence Jones kind of role as the 3rd big.

Lyles should be similar to Tjones. A bit taller, but not as strong.. very similar handles and shooting.

Frank cannot guard on the floor, at all.
