I think you are way off. He can defend any NBA 3 IMO.They are basically the same size. Both are slender power forwards who do most of their damage on put backs and drop offs. Looney hit a few threes and that is not Ed's game but that is the main difference I see between them. The sample size is really small and he shoots 63% from the line so I'm not sure he's really a shooter... we'll see. People had thought Ed would gain weight too... it doesn't happen for everyone.
The fractured face affected him in the tournament... I watched him at the beginning, middle and end of the season and never walked away impressed.
As far as strong IQ and 3 and D... those are guesses. He won't be able to guard most 3s in the NBA. He's going to have to play PF. If he can guard NBA PFs he'll be a decent player... Kind of like how Ed Davis is a decent player. The Ed Davis comp is not perfect, but it's a lot closer than the Lamar Odom, Luol Deng comps... he doesn't move that well.

Why?Yeah... not feeling it... Like maybe the ok level 3's. But I don't think he'd have much shot at even the decent sf's Carroll and Giannis and the like.
UCLA haterI think u are both wrong. He is nothing like Davis while Cy is overrating him. I would rather have Davis than Looney, fwiw.

What evidence do you have? DX seems to think he can guard 3's just fine. He's a tweener... He will get roasted by NBA 3s. He moves well for a PF, but its not amazingly well. If he is successful in the NBA it will be at the 4.

He is the MVP of this AWFUL McD game, imo.
Will be interesting to see how much it hurts ISU/helps the Johnnies that they hired Matt Abdelmassih.
