Following potential 2015 draftees

I like Powell in the 2nd. Really good at getting to the rim, and that's a skill that translates.

Would prefer Rashad Vaughn. Not crazy about anybody in our range in the first. Bummer.

I don't think Turner is the guy for the Jazz. His development curve is a long one and his ability to defend out on the floor is questionable. He can shoot, but it's not game changing. He's not really the guy if the Jazz are trying to pull a quality team together this year. We're better off getting someone who can handle, pass and defend out on the floor--someone more versatile.

His assumption is based on your demeanor on this board, yours is based on his culture/religion/race. I'm sure an esteemed academic like you can note the differences there.

Why don't you tell me what the important differences are. Thanks.

Now that Poeltl has decided to stay put, there is a clear talent drop off at #12, with Oubre being the 12th guy. Dunn and Grant at 13th and 14th respectively are clearly a tier below compared to Oubre.

Luckily we've got the 12th pick. Let's hope noone else decides to drop out.

We might not have a choice either way. If Oubre and Kaminsky are off the board by then, Turner might be BPA. And you know what KOC thinks about BPAs.

I just watched the DX scouting report for Frank the Tank. I am a big fan... I think the goofy looks and fact that he plays for Wisconsin play into the idea he is going to be a stiff. DX gave two stats... no 7-footer has posted a higher 3 point percentage and he also has the highest Pure Point Rating of anyone over 6 foot 9 in their database.

With today's NBA Frank will be a nightmare to cover on offense... he will struggle on D, but I doubt he'll be Kanteresque. A lot of defense is physical tools, but Bball IQ and motivation play a large role as well. Think he has the latter... I'd be extremely happy if we got him at 12 even if they also bring Tomic over.

He's a nice guy too. That helps. I know you like Frank. I can see Portis having a bigger impact just with how hard he plays, but Frank is a unique player. He's almost like a more functional Bargnani.

Rather have Looney, Lyles, Portis, or Booker than Turner. If Oubre and Frank are gone I wonder if we could move back to #16-#18 and pick up another first rounder. Take whoever is left from that group. I liked Turner statistically at the beginning of the year. Then I watched him play and the shooting fell waaaaaay off... I'm not a fan.

Some Euros really want to wait until they are ready to produce in the NBA for playing in the NBA. See Mirotic and Saric. Now admittedly with Mirotic waiting the 3 years he also got a much bigger payday in the NBA. That is why i am skeptical that Saric will be in the NBA until the 3 years are up.

Poetl says he actually enjoys college.

There is a BIG difference between playing in Europe and getting paid before going to NBA and staying in college and not getting paid.

Frank has things that he does that are exceptional, rare, and important to team success. I can look past a few warts because of it.

Portis is okay... I think people think he's a good athlete... he's not. His shooting form is a little goofy as well, but he seems to hit it. The games I watched of him were bad so I don't have a great read on him. I'd be happy if we got him, but again if that is who is left I might try to collect assets and move back.
