Following potential 2015 draftees

I wouldn't compare Oubre to JR Smith. I'd compare him to Trevor Ariza or maybe even a young Robert Horry. Oubre has good length and more tenacity than Smith. He's definitely able to play SF.

No doubt he is a SF and has some tools I've just heard some question his drive which scares me... Also in the few games I've watched he is either riding the pine or not noticeable.

To me he could either be Paul George or Gerald Green. I think he's a swing for the fences type... Which at 10-12 isn't a bad gamble.

Oh... My bad. That assessment would kind of fit in with the artest comp. artest was crazy strong... Not sure if Stan has that much power.

Put it this way, how would Stanley Johnson score with Derrick Favors guarding the paint? Could he hit a floater or fall-away jump shot? Could he hit a running hook shot? Or would he take two dribbles and pass the ball out? That's the difference between college and the NCAA. In college, Johnson could shoulder in and get a layup.

Oubre could probably hit a leaner, floater or mid-range jump shot.

Actually, this is the adjustment that Dante Exum has to make too. At the U19 level, Dante could just get by people and get on top of the rim. In the pros he's trying to figure out how not to get killed. He needs to develop all kinds of floaters, use his body to shield himself and use angles, all things he's never done before. He desperately needs a mid-range pull-up game, which he just doesn't have yet.

If Gobert is there too then no one scores.

I agree Oubre probably has more upside... I think his floor is lower than Johnson's. I am just not sure that Oubre has the internal fortitude to be great. Physical tools are there. It is a bit telling to me that he can't get a ton of minutes on that Kansas team. I would understand it if we picked him... not sure he or johnson are there. I think we are likely choosing between Kevon Looney (every time I watch him I hate him more), Frank the Tank, and Devin Booker. I'd go Booker, Frank the Tank, and Looney.

He could get to the basket, but not sure he was a get on top of the rim guy... I get what you are saying though.

Just keep winning and end up at 13 where Booker will look great. The kid is fearless, and has a wet j. He won't crowd anyone for playing time for a while, and will be a nice insurance policy if needed.

I dont think there will be any better choice (aka big man) at the 13 spot.

I think Trey Lyles and Bobby Portis are sleeper picks for the tail end of the lottery. They're a bit overlooked. Nothing they do really jumps off the page, but they're both long, skilled PFs who can do a bit of everything. Myles Turner has a lot of upside too, but he'll need a couple years to develop.

My problem with Looney is his mediocre mobility and inability to get off the floor much going to the rim. That's what holds him back.

Devin Booker apparently has some combo-guard skills, maybe more than he's showing at UK. If he's a guy who can play on the ball and create as well as score, that's a nice plus for our guard rotation. Booker's measurables are pretty close to D'Angelo Russell and Brandon Roy. His wingspan is just a couple inches shorter.

Can't wait to see him work out for the Jazz.

booker - would be a great offensive asset with the very good defense we already play. his shooting instantly makes the offense better. teams would have a lot harder time doubling. if he can play decent defense would be a steal at our position.

looney - I would be surprised if he is still available but if he was I think he can guard on the perimeter because of his length he can staff off his guy and cover a lot of ground to contest shots. the length he bring would make it almost impossible to score inside on the jazz. he would also be an amazing bench piece being able to play the 3/4.

Winslow - is perfect with the defensive attitude on the jazz. he has a great work ethic and doesn't take plays off. I also like how he runs the floor reminds me a little of Malone. his shot is not broken and I think his work ethic will make it better.

kaminsky - if the jazz know pleiss or tomic aren't coming over next year then kaminsky makes some sense. he would make a nice rotational player with Gobert and favors. his 3 pt shooting is very good and he actually tries on defense.

oubre - I just don't like his mental make up but he has the tools to be very good. QS seems to be a good developmental coach. I think he might be able to start a fire under him. he is a high risk high reward type of pick.

If Booker can handle the ball and initiate plays a bit like a Brandon Roy, that would be a huge bonus. It means we would have multiple shooters and facilitators on the floor. Booker is more than just a spot-up shooter.
