Following potential 2015 draftees

Don't panic if the Jazz sit at #9 or 10 and take Oubre. He would fit right in with our defense, given his length, and has some real offensive upside. It's just a question of how aggressive he wants to be.

He'd at least be that Trevor Ariza or Nic Batum guy we don't really have right now.

If Devin Booker has enough ball skills to play some PG, that increases his value for the Jazz. UK has a bunch of other guards handling the ball, and I wonder if Booker can do more than he does. He played some PG in the past. If he can do some Brandon Roy things, it would give us a different look. Of course, that would be more bad news for Trey Burke.

Booker could rise in workouts if that ability comes out.

Nearly every top HS player is essentially their team's PG.

Not that Oubre is bad, but with the resources at their disposal, that would be a disappointing draft. Russell, Johnson or Hezonja. Go big, or go home. Gobert, Favors, Hayward and Exum are off the table, but any other combination of players and/or picks (minus the two 2017 picks) should be available for a move up. . . just depends on how high. Put it out there through back channels that the Jazz are looking to utilize their assets, and see who comes calling. Worst case scenario is that the Jazz stay put and just pick the best player on their board.

Would our 2017 pick, our 2016 pick, our 2017 pick, and the 2017 OKC pick be enough for Philly to send us the #2 or #3 pick? What if we added Burke, Hood, and all of Europe (I think we own every Euro prospect in the world)? We could offer it because we would exercise a pick this year... the Philly pick... and we have the 2017 GSW pick unprotected, which makes our pick available. Would you do it for D'Angelo? Would they?

1. You can't trade your 1st round pick two years in a row (2016 and 2017 would be impossible).
2. No, Philly wouldn't do it.

You can if you have another pick you are exercising and we have the 2017 GSW pick.

well point 2 still stands

Bet they would think about it... May even have a meeting about it. I'm not sure id do it if I was the jazz.

No, I really don't think they would. Utah is shaping up to be a very good team by the time those picks happen and even better if they are gift wrapping a top 3 pick to us. It would be a resounding "no".

Fair enough. I would be reluctant to do it from the Jazz standpoint. We might be a playoff team next year, but it will be very difficult to crack the top 8 in the west. One key injury and we are middle of the lotto again.
