And that is exactly my case for Exum. He will improve even just a little bit offensively and his defense will get better too. Exum will be a decent starter as well. Worst case is that due to Exum/Gobert/Favors other teams will have playing the Jazz.
 
Here is what I am looking for:

1. 3&D (obvious, that's what everyone wants)

If that doesn't happen then I either want someone who is good to great offensively or good to great defensively. Either is equal in my mind.

The Jazz just need someone to take pressure off of Hayward on either end of the floor.

I've said from the get go that his game is much better suited for the current NBA than Okafors... But I was only talking offense. His defense is going to be good as well. To me he is clearly the first big that should go in the draft. He's nasty.
 
jazz in the 10 to 12 spot this is what I like

booker - I have liked him for a while. he has an elite nba talent in shooting. this is a solid pick
Winslow - is a worry because of his offense. his defense is very good. I think his work ethic will eventually make him a 3&D
looney - makes me looney. I think he can play sf and pf but I feel he is a solid rotational player not a starter. could be a stretch 4 that QS seems to want also.
oubre - I don't feel he fits. I just don't like the mental make up. he plays on talent an when he gets to the nba that gets taken away because a lot of others have the talent. not sure he will be good.
kaminsky - would like this pick if tomic or pleiss are not coming over.

ny - Russell perfect fit in the triangle
Philly - okafor give low post scoring
minny - towns perfect replacement for love with D
lakers - mudiay start with a pg
Orlando - porzingis they need shooting and a solid pf
sactown - wcs perfect with cousins
Denver - Johnson BPA right here they need everything
Detroit - looney seems like an svg guy
Atlanta - hezonja best team in the east gets better
Boston - booker because they need shooting
Utah - oubre might as well take a swing for the fences
 
I think the jazz have to move up. If be some miracle we can get into the top 3 and get Russell that would be perfect. Plan B is to move up to get Johnson or hezonja. I think plan B us much more feasible. I'd love to see us move into the 5th spot because I think one of the top four will slide. I think some team may fall in love with WCS or Porzingis and take them ahead of Mudiay or Russell. If Russ doesn't have a good tourney I could see him sliding a bit. He is the type that likely won't be great in workouts or athletic testing because he's not a great athlete. I remember Sacramento took tyreke instead of curry because in head to head workouts tyreke made him look like a boy playing against a man... I still have hope.

I agree if the jazz don't get into the top 3 the moving up is the best. hezonja I have ahead of Johnson right now.
