Following potential 2015 draftees

I agree if the jazz don't get into the top 3 the moving up is the best. hezonja I have ahead of Johnson right now.

.... and probably a better fit for our team too. We are pretty solid defensively now, but pretty ugly offensively (see 76ers game). We need some scoring and Hezonja could be the answer for years to come?

I like both guys but would take Johnson ahead of hezonja right now because I am more familiar with him.

jazz in the 10 to 12 spot this is what I like

booker - I have liked him for a while. he has an elite nba talent in shooting. this is a solid pick
Winslow - is a worry because of his offense. his defense is very good. I think his work ethic will eventually make him a 3&D
looney - makes me looney. I think he can play sf and pf but I feel he is a solid rotational player not a starter. could be a stretch 4 that QS seems to want also.
oubre - I don't feel he fits. I just don't like the mental make up. he plays on talent an when he gets to the nba that gets taken away because a lot of others have the talent. not sure he will be good.
kaminsky - would like this pick if tomic or pleiss are not coming over.

quick draft

ny - Russell perfect fit in the triangle
Philly - okafor give low post scoring
minny - towns perfect replacement for love with D
lakers - mudiay start with a pg
Orlando - porzingis they need shooting and a solid pf
sactown - wcs perfect with cousins
Denver - Johnson BPA right here they need everything
Detroit - looney seems like an svg guy
Atlanta - hezonja best team in the east gets better
Boston - booker because they need shooting
Utah - oubre might as well take a swing for the fences
If your draft scenario goes down then we should trade up to atl spot and get super Mario.

What do you guys think it would take to move up from 12 to 6ish and get Mario? Packaging our pick with the GS pick would be awesome, but if it also took the OKC pick would you do it?

I think it would take both GS and OKC pick, and I wouldn't do it. I'd rather take a show at Winslow/Looney at 12 if they're available.

2017 draft is supposed to be stacked.

Catchall's current wing rank:

- Hezonja - possibly the next Klay Thompson
- Oubre - wait til he grows another inch or two and develops a bit more
- Johnson - like him, but worry about his mobility, especially if he gets even bigger
- Winslow - he might be a better pro than college player, good in the open floor

honestly I think to move up we could swap picks and hood.

I think that only gets us up 3 - 4 spots, and that's assuming Hood keeps playing well. We might be able to take a bad contract too though, not sure.

Keep an eye on Tomic. It's possible we're bringing him over to trade him. A team that has holes all over the place like the Knicks or Lakers could use him. That said, I don't see the Knicks or Lakers trading their pick in this draft.

Jazz can offer: Burke, Hood, Tomic, Pleiss, Booker, 2nd rounders, etc. to go with their first this year. Maybe some of that gets us from 10 to 5.

MAYBE if we're talking #6 from #9, but not from #12.
Last year, Orlando moved up to #10 by trading their 12th pick, a 2015 second-rounder and a future first to Philadelphia.

Chicago got the #11 pick and Anthony Randolph in exchange for the #16, #19 and a future 2nd round pick. PERHAPS Utah makes the argument Hood is much more valuable than last year's draft position. However, the unknown - and promise of finding the "steal" of the draft - often makes a pick more valuable than a known commodity who is nice, but not great.

In the first case. it's hard to know who won that trade. Orlando picked Payton, but Saric didn't come over for Philly. In the second trade, Chicago got McDermott and Denver picked Nurkic and Harris. It's usually pretty expensive to move up and doesn't always get you a good return.

I am liking the idea of trading down and taking Justin Anderson

The only certainty is that Denver will not be picking up the phone if we call. . .
