What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

The key portion of this post being, "at the moment."

Well I would have loved it if Booker's in the starting lineup and can show me a bit more of what he's got. To me he's a bit riskier a pick than Grant just because we're relying on a lot on his shooting to translate at the NBA level..

Jimmer & Stauskus haven't panned out so I am a bit more cautious. Curry to me was a safer pick because he played the PG his final year in college so if his shooting hadn't panned out he's got that to fall back on.

I ain't pimpn just sayn the reasoning in this thread has gone way down hill and that was quite a feat.
But Jerian is almost FOUR years older than Booker, is shooting 10% less from 3, and Booker leads almost EVERY single CAT per 36.

Booker, Lyles, and Towns are all undervalued imo... all would be putting up more numbers if they were playing on teams that featured them. Kudos for them for buying in to the team, and people can say what they want about Cal... he has young men buying into the team concept rather than self.

If it was Booker vs. Grant... no way I am picking Grant. We already have a lanky point guard.

Yeah so I did say his age and shooting was a concern.

However to your other point, Per 40 according to DX, Grant leads Booker in Assists (6.8 vs 2), FTM (4.2 vs 2.6), steals (1.8 vs 0.8), FG% (49.4% vs 47.7%). Rebounds was even at around 3.

bad comparison jimmer is shooting 40% from 3 he just sucks at defense and actually playing PG i would take booker on this team over grant 9/10 times

Booker isn't being asked to shoulder the offense or anything, should be getting a TON of wide open looks from the guys he plays with and also probably isn't getting the other teams best defender every game. His %'s should be a lot higher than Grants.

Stauskas is also on a team that is a poor fit for him. He's not been good, but give him time... I'd pick him up on the cheap if possible. He might still be good.

jazz need shooting and Booker is one of the best in this draft. With him on the 3 point line it will open up lanes for Burks, Burke and hayward. Exum's first step will become deadly, if he will develope it.

Favors and Gobert will have an easy kick out and teams will have a harder time doubling of Booker in the post.

If we draft Grant, what happens to Burke?

I don't think Grant will play the Point in the NBA. I think he'll be a combo guard, someone who can handle the ball, make the right passes, and score occasionally as well. I think he could be a less athletic, but a better passer version of Burks.

actually i disagree as i posted earlier the way to stop their ability to shoot and pack the lane. I would put your best wing defender on booker when he comes into the game. Dare the twins to jack up 3 while doubling the post every time.
