However to your other point, Per 40 according to DX, Grant leads Booker in Assists (6.8 vs 2), FTM (4.2 vs 2.6), steals (1.8 vs 0.8), FG% (49.4% vs 47.7%). Rebounds was even at around 3.

Those stats are not updated.

Booker isn't being asked to shoulder the offense or anything, should be getting a TON of wide open looks from the guys he plays with and also probably isn't getting the other teams best defender every game. His %'s should be a lot higher than Grants.

actually i disagree as i posted earlier the way to stop their ability to shoot and pack the lane. I would put your best wing defender on booker when he comes into the game. Dare the twins to jack up 3 while doubling the post every time.

When you play with a bunch of great players you're going to get easier shots than if you're playing with a bunch of no ones. You have to double on more than a few Kentucky players. I like Booker but not until 12 or so.

Age, maybe. But Grant can shoot. 50% FGs, and he is a career 35% 3pt shooter 80% FTs. Not great, but his shot isn't broken. By comparison, MCW was at 39% FGs, 29% 3pt, 69% FT. Completely different shooting numbers.

His numbers peaked in his junior year though, and dipped slightly this year. I'm not saying that means he has peaked, but it might forewarn of a limited ceiling.

Grant and Booker are completely different players, who are asked to do different things for their teams. Why are we even comparing their stats?

Yes and no... a lot of mouths to feed. Look at Kevin Love this year vs. last. I get what you are saying... Just not sure the spacing in college basketball gives the wide open looks.

I really like Booker... He could come in and provide spot minutes and give us shooting and sounds like he won't hurt us on defense. Sounds like culturally it works too.

Keep in mind he was hurt most of his junior year, so sample size. Also I think you're mainly referring to shooting - take a look at G-time's frosh season compared to his sophomore season.

Also I agree Grant and Booker are completely different players who bring different things to the table. No need to compare the two.

Some things I feel like I get out of all them dang numbers. Russell/Grant are obviously in a league of their own for offensive creation (OBPM/AST%). Though Grant's usage number was lower than I anticipated. On the other side of the ball Johnson is ahead of the others by a ways. All of their TS% seem solid to me, though Booker's the best of the group. All in all they all seem like more than solid prospects and I'd be happy to have any of them in Utah.

That's a good question. Nik really shot up draft boards late... I don't think he's a bust but it is tough to go back and project them without the knowledge of how terrible he's been this year.

I think Booker would be selected before him based on defense and being a little bigger. I also think booker is more athletic but nik tested pretty well athletically... Just don't think it manifests itself in games.

Grants age and recent dominance create the biggest questions for me. I understand if he had an injury his junior year, but he scares me a bit.
