Following potential 2015 draftees

Surprised for sure. I'm a huge fan of his, just super weary of 4th year players in the lottery. Just not a solid track record for those dudes.

Yeah, Lillard is the only recent senior taken in the lottery that really succeeded in the NBA off the top of my head.

I'd still take Kaminsky at #12 doe.

Lillard was actually a medical red-shirt Junior because his 3rd year he sat out nearly the entire season with an injury.

The positive for Kaminksy is that he has improved a lot every year. He only started being good last year, so maybe that means he still has a lot of growth.

A dude like McDermott last year was pretty much the same player he was his last year as he was his Sophomore year. He just increased his usage a tad and his efficiency dropped.

Kaminksy has increased efficiency and usage every year.

Wait a sec.. Wtf. Woj telling us that a prospect is moving into the top-5, comes straight from NBA personnel.

That's not him telling us he will be good, that's just him handing out facts on what the execs think about him.

Givony falls in love with international players and Ford is just used as a guy to spread smokescreens.

Woj > Givony > Ford

I trust Woj with info that comes from a source. I trust Givony with his opinion/analysis of NBA prospects. Givony knows basketball. Woj knows how to polish knobs in order to get the scoop first, and he's the best in the business at it. Obviously, there's a big difference between trying to predict the future, and repeating something from a source, so I give Givony a reasonable amount of slack.

I am just so excited about this team. it is been a long time since I have been more excited about the team then the draft. I don't care who we draft. target a good young talent like Middleton and lets make some noise next year.

I'm on the same boat as you on this. Honestly this year our team is getting so good that the significance of our pick is a bit less than previous years when we definitely needed to hit a home run.

A solid pick with an upside that we can develop would be great. Yay.

You trust Givony's writers. I really don't think he does anymore scouting, at least not on American soil. All the scouting reports, written and video, are done by his staff writers (mainly Schmidt). I think he is just the guy with the connects, does the interviews, collects the footage, runs the page, and has the business savvy.

I think Chad Ford tries to interject his own personal thoughts and feelings on his mocks than Givony does. I think Givony does his purely based on what he hears from NBA teams.

I just played ESPN's lottery machine 5x and got Stanley Johnson at #12 4 of those times. The other one, we won the lotto and took Okafor #1.

Chad Ford apparently thinks Johnson is dropping that low?

DX now has Oubre at #12 in its mock.

The DX board paints a pretty gloomy picture, we'd be left with: Oubre, Grant, Looney and Booker, to choose from.

I might even be forced to pick Oubre if it does come to that...

Whose stocks do you think are going to go up/down during the tournament?

Up:
Towns will dominate
Stanley Johnson will turn it up
Kaminsky will lead Wisconsin to a deep run
Tyus Jones will hit some clutch shots

Down:
D'Angelo Russell will play hero-ball and turn some people off
Winslow and Oubre will be invisible for a few games
Looney and Myles Turner will have like 4 points in a first round exit
Devin Booker will have a rough shooting stretch
Bobby Portis will underperform
Okafor in the sense that he won't be a clear #1, which isn't really his fault. I just think people will view Towns more highly.

There isn't a single thing i don't love about winslow. Think he'd be great fit with the way he play.

great name is just a bonus.

A big part of scouting is talking to as many people as you can who's opinions you respect, and adding that info to your own personal thoughts about a certain player. I have no doubts that his opinions are all based mostly on info he gets from those in the know, but he still has to organize all that info and then try to form conclusions. Obviously, mock drafts become a lot more accurate the closer you get to the draft, but in the meantime, DX does a better job than anyone else in projecting players IMO. I just think it's a completely different animal than Woj trading bjs for the first right to a scoop.

Woj is the king when it comes to breaking news tweets, but he's not respectable as a sports journalist. Anyone who doubts that should google some of the horse **** articles he wrote about Joe Dumars and his amazing job as GM of the Pistons. I'm not sure what would be worse, if he actually beloved some of the ridiculous crap he was putting out, or if he was writing lies he knew was crap, just so he could suck up to people with access to info(it was the latter, no doubt). Let's not even mention all the negative articles he wrote to punish those who wouldn't give him first access to info.

Believe me, I understand that in such things as sports journalism, you don't get to the top without getting dirty, and I suppose there's something to be admired about having that level of ambition. Nevertheless, I just can't respect a so-called journalist who so blatantly abuses their position for personal gain. It don't sit right with me and it never will.
