Following potential 2015 draftees

Wings develop faster than bigs in the NBA isn't it a well known fact?
Even if that were true, we should still be thinking about who is going to be best long term. The goal is to win a championship, not just make the playoffs next season.

BPA.

The Jazz shouldn't obsess over position and who will make the biggest immediate impact. They should grade players in terms of who they think will help the team's long term outlook and draft accordingly.

This we have young good players at every position. Whoever we draft is likely a fringe rotation guy next year and that is okay. I'd just say avoid drafting a point guard as I don't want to have two projects at the same position.

I also don't think we trade the pick. I don't see a spot for a veteran to come in and take up a bunch of minutes that should go to Hood. If we stay at 12 or 13 I'm fine with any of the PFs... Looney lyles Portis all seem like good fits. Booker might be a decent choice but I don't think he'd get any burn at all. I could see a rookie PF come in and be playing 12 or so minutes a night by year end.

Bro I'm not arguing against picking BPA - if you go look at my original post I was just questioning the focus on picking potential PFs. We should broaden our horizon to include other positions I agree with you on that.

Dont dare mention his name along with Dirk. Just kidding. He is getting a lot of the dirk, pau, nikola comparisons right now. I think he goes no later than 6th so a big trade would have to be in order.

I could see this guy slipping. No one wants to draft the next Darko, Vasquez, or Skitta. I'll bet he goes between 8 and 11, unless a very confident GM steps up and falls in love with him.

Completely wrong comparisions. Those guys were work out wonders who barely played before they got drafted. Porzingis plays for a top level Spanish team and is contributing very well (gets more minutes than Hezonja). Definitely believe he will go top 6. Now the only thing that would hold him back is if NBA teams are not convinced he is coming over. However, waiting on Mirotic is paying off quite well for Chicago (granted he was drafted later).

I understand there are different circumstances. The stink from those guys will continue to scare GMs and rub off on other Euros... Porzingis has a lot of question marks physically and is a high risk high reward prospect. Vasquez was a fluky deal, but do you think Orlando would take Porzingis? These things will absolutely affect him and if there is a guy in that top 7 or 8 that falls... my guess is it is Porzingis.

Actually yes, I think Porzingis would be a great fit in Orlando next to Vucevic. Porzingis seems much more motivated to play in the NBA.

I think it will play on both Orlando and Denver's mind. I also don't see SVG too interested because he will take a while... more of a project than some of the other guys.

I know he is playing well for his age in that league, but the bigs he will face out here will eat him alive until he gets bigger. I think he carries more risk than Winslow, Hezonja, and WCS. The risk is justifiable because he has a lot of upside though... not sure a GM will have the testicular fortitude though.

Porzingis is a perfect fit for ORL.

- They have a gaping hole at the PF spot

- With Gordon, Peyton, and Oladipo, they desperately needs shooting in the starting lineup

- Young GM who is patient with rebuilding

Problem is all those are PFs ... we already have a back up PF in Booker who is improving and has shown he can backup Favors if he is injured or needs a rest (knock on wood). What we really need is a back up Center.

But if you say "Well we're bringing over Tomic", then my question to you is "Are we really going to use our lottery pick on a 5th big?"

Booker doesn't shoot, score or rebound well enough to replace what we lost with Kanter. The Jazz may not keep him, tbh. Truthfully, Booker isn't that good.
