Right, Tomic is a star in Europe. With the Jazz, he'd get back-up minutes behind Gobert. Why trade for Pleiss if you believe Tomic is coming? The whole-- "We're willing to buy out Tomic..." could be a smokescreen.

I agree with a lot of this, I think Lyles is underrated because he played on a stacked Kentucky team that has four 1st-round picks. Kaminsky will be a lottery pick, Dunn will rise with workouts, and Turner has shown he has a nice shot and plays good defense.

Realistically, right now I wouldn't mind anyone from 11-15 on my big board (Oubre, Lyles, Portis, Turner, Dunn). I do like Booker, he can really shoot the ball, but #12 is a bit too high I think atleast for right now.

Add Looney to this list as well.. I agree I think Pleiss would be the one to come over not Tomic if either of them do.

Isn't Pleiss super young on that team? Maybe they are thinking of bringing him over once he get's a few years of experience. That way they can bring Tomic over now and play him. Who else did the thunder have available to trade too? Maybe the Jazz just wanted more assets from the trade.
 
Bring over Tomic and Pleiss's value goes up as the starting center for Barcelona!

Wait a year and trade Pleiss back to the thunder for an extended Durant.
 
I just watched some Bobby Portis game tape vs Clemson. Not sure I see it. He looks really slow. Like everything he does in the half court is pretty slow.

I don't think it's a smokescreen. I think Lindsey just got as much value as he could from OKC. Does put some pressure on Tomic. It's now or never for him. If he doesn't come over, Jazz will go with Pleiss. Personally, I think Tomic just wants a raise and multi-year deal from Barcelona. But I'm ok with that. We want players who WANT to be in Utah and are willing to accept their roles. Not sure Ante would be ok with being a backup to Gobert after being the star for his team in Barcelona.

Wow. One minute you are almost on the bandwagon and then watch one tape and you are not. LMAO. This is one of the funniest things I have seenallday. Honestly

This is why I've always been lukewarm on Tomic. He just doesn't seem to be excited to join us (unlike Neto who came out and did some hiking with Gobert last Summer in Utah).


We don't need guys who aren't happy to be here. To me our team culture is the most important at the moment. We don't need guys dragging their feet. We've learnt what that's done to us with Kanter.
