Following potential 2015 draftees

I'm thinking we might have to trade up to get Turner. But I think Kaminsky's a nice consolation prize (Kaminsky = Okur's offense/better defense). One of them will be there. Or if they're not then someone else falls (Johnson, Porzingis, Hezonja).

Or maybe Portis is better than all of them. A lot of these guys look equally good to me.

If we're trading up, I hope it's not for Turner.

Although I didn't pay much attention to the PG crop this year, the more I learn about Payne, the more I'm interested in potentially drafting him at #12. While moving Exum to SG in the future wouldn't be ideal as it would take away the physical advantage that he has over most PG's, he wouldn't have any problem guarding 2's & Payne appears to be a great fit alongside him in the backcourt due to his good handles, vision, 3 pt shooting, & defensive potential. With the frontcourt set for the near future, the backcourt looks like the only potential openings in the starting lineup. I'm beginning to prefer Payne over Kaminsky & possibly even Booker. With Hayward, Favors, & Gobert having locked down starting spots, it may make more sense to draft Payne & see who emerges between him, Exum, Hood, & Burks than to draft a long-term backup such as Kaminsky, Portis, etc.

For someone who isn't very explosive, he is extremely quick for a dude 6'11 and nearly 250 lbs.

He can also handle a bit. He had one highlight where he started a fast break, crossed someone over near mid court and tossed a lob for an assist, all at guard speed. He has good body control and can pressure the defense in a number of different ways. His ability to defend inside and out is appealing.

I think he gets a long look. Love the attitude in the interviews. Seems like a hard worker, balls to wall type of player. You can
never have enough of this. The junk yard dog with a jumper.

Yeah, because they dominated the NCAA.

I'll pass.

27-9 record with a NCAA tourney win.

Yeah, because college game is the NBA game and 2 guys make a team.

Why did we draft Derrick Favors? His Georgia Tech team only won 1 NCAA tourney game and had a worse record than Portis's Razerbacks?

That Trey Burke though and those Michigan dudes dominating though.....

Portis doesn't always finish above the rim, but he looks like he'll finish inside and off drives better than Looney. That should also buy him a bit more space on his jumper. He can use his mobility against bigger players and his length against smaller players.

Didn't Indiana know Paul George's Fresno State team had a losing record in the Mountain West? What idiots for drafting him.
