Following potential 2015 draftees

It's actually not a bad comparison. Hezonja is a cocky, ISO-heavy player who likes to shoot from deep. Could be a good defender, but hasn't shown it yet.

The hope is that he develops out of some of those things, but if he doesn't, he's gonna be a player similar to JR Smith or Swaggy P.
I actually said about 2 weeks ago that I thought JR was a good comp for Mario, besides the skin color of course.

I'm glad I'm not a GM trying to determine if the euro guy really wants to come over, or if he is just going to use being drafted as leverage to make more money in Europe.

I'm getting really interested to see if Payne or Lyles can push Johnson or Turner down to 12.

This is going to be a really interesting draft. Lots of trade potential all over.

Portis said he has a workout scheduled with Detroit. Wouldn't surprise me if the Pistons have a trade-down deal into our range. Hopefully it's us. He'd be a good fit for them, but 8 is a bit high to draft him.

But it's perfect range for Stanley Johnson. We can even throw Trey Burke into the deal for good measure.

Then maybe try to buy a late first round pick if anyone falls that the Jazz like, ala Gobert.

Of all years, this seems like a good one to do that. Jazz will do what they need to at 12, but then they should try to move back up into the late 1st round to grab someone who falls or is overlooked. In the past 4 drafts, you've had players like Kenneth Faried (22), Mason Plumlee (22), Nicola Mirotic (23), Rodney Hood (23), Reggie Jackson (24), Tim Hardaway Jr. (24), Clint Capela (25), Rudy Gobert (27), Jimmy Butler (30),, K. J. McDaniels (32), Cleanthony Early (34), Draymond Green (35), Ray McCallum (36), Chandler Parsons (38) and Khris Middleton (39), who were all drafted between picks 22-42. Someone will fall, and DL has proven that he can identify that guy AND that he's willing to go get them. I'd make every effort to do it 3 years in a row.

I would think the target is Johnson or Turner, assuming the Euros are gone.

As the draft starts creeping closer, I'm finding myself hopeful that one of those 2 guys will end up in Utah. . . which is a far better result than what this team should be getting based on the collection of young players they already have. Put either of these guys with our development heavy coaching staff, and the sky is the limit. I don't think either guy makes it to 12, so I'm hoping the Jazz can figure out a reasonable trade to get one. I think the dropoff in talent after Johnson/Turner is significant.

Give me one of those two, plus trade 42, cash and future assets to move up for someone who falls. . . and I'll be a very happy Jazz fan.
