A thought:
In the playoffs, teams seem to dare "floor-spacers" that don't shoot a lot of threes to shoot a lot of them and that pressure seems to pay dividends. If we're talking about a big that spaces the floor, it should probably be someone that you could believe would be comfortable taking (and making) a ton of shots. Defenses only HAVE to respect an ability if it's a game-long threat. If Derrick Favors can hit a three here and there, it won't mean a damn thing in the playoffs in terms of spacing.

Nice, I really like Dekker's small ball PF potential. I think he will be a much better pro than people realize. Much rather have him than Lyles.

Not as bad as Dekker's. Hayward's percentages were better (even in his off year) and his mechanics definitely looked better. Plus Dekker is older.
And why are you trying to make the whole discussion on Dekker revolve around Hayward? Why can't we just discuss him for the player that he is? He has questions in his game just like anyone else. If the Jazz were to pick him, I'd be fine with it (I like his physical abilities and mentality), but that doesn't mean his warts can just be shrugged off "cause Hayward bro. "
Well you don't really draft Dekker as a playmaker like we did Hayward.
I see Dekker as more of a transition athlete who can beat up smaller wings while you hope his 3pt shot becomes more consistent (I think it will). He also adds an element of size to our wing position that we don't currently have.
Dekker is a dude you can see guarding Lebron or KD, just from a physical standpoint, while not sacrificing too much offensive ability on the other end.

Because everyone including me had the same questions when Hayward was drafted and I don't see these concerns with Dekker people keep bringing up.

His ball handling is completelt average. Strictly a straight line driver. I don't think he will have much play-making ability his first year in the league. He can't work a PNR like Hood can.
He would be like our version of Harrison Barnes. Not as athletic as Barnes, but a bigger player who won't get beat up in the post as much as Barnes does. Also think Dekker has more "clutch" and "it" factor, if you believe in those things.
