The Jazz might not be in the market for a point guard, but Grant, another projected mid-first-round pick, believes he’ll be able to quickly work his way up to speed in the NBA after spending four years at Notre Dame.
Grant, the son of former NBA player Harvey Grant and brother of the Sixers’ Jerami Grant, said maturity is one of his attributes.
“I’m a guy that’s not going to need three years to be able to crack the rotation,” he said. “I think I’ll be able to help a team right now.”
Grant’s father was picked 12th overall in the 1988 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets.
“It would be cool to be at that same pick as my dad,” he admitted. “I think Utah’s somewhere I could thrive.”
I thought this little tidbit was cool whether or not Grant is in play at 12.

It's hard to take Dakari seriously when on one of his most important "job interviews"(the combine) he came totally out of shape with record high body fat%, and it all seemed to reflect on his athleticism testing results - combine worst in the history max vertical(after actually recording pretty nice vert at the UK pro day in the fall), 2nd worst in history no-step vert, botton 5 in history sprint time, etc... I have no idea what the reason is... but this doesn't strike me as someone really striving to succeed...
(unless he's been hurt or something in the meantime and hasn't been able to work at all, but I haven't heard anything of that sort)...

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, the third overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft who missed his rookie season with injury, suffered a setback in the healing process of his right foot, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
After weeks of rigorous workouts, Embiid had not felt pain in the foot, but a recent CT scan revealed an issue in the healing process, sources said. Philadelphia is consulting with doctors on how to best proceed, and it's still premature to speculate on the possibility of another surgical procedure that could sideline Embiid, sources said.
Embiid had been expected to participate with Sixers' summer league teams in July, but that could jeopardized now, sources said. For now, it is too soon to tell how long Embiid will be kept out.
Embiid had surgery for a stress fracture in his foot several days before the 2014 draft, and the Sixers ultimately decided for him to sit out the entirety of his rookie season. Eyewitness accounts of Embiid's workouts in recent weeks in Southern California described dominant, explosive performances, offering a glimpse into the kind of potential that could have had Embiid selected first overall in the 2014 draft. He had been the dominant player in the predraft process after playing one season at Kansas
