Following potential 2015 draftees

DX has Mudiay falling to #7 on their latest mock..

I wouldn't mind trading #12, Trey Burke, GSW 2017 first round pick, OKC 2018 first round pick for #7 to get Mudiay or Hezonja.

Go big or go home, if DL thinks either one is a top-5 player and one of them falls to #7 I think you take the chance.

I'd probably do that, the other team probably wouldn't.

I agree with this, but I'm not sure if Denver as a division rival is going to want to help us much. They already did us a solid helping us get Gobert, and they're living with that decision.

I think Denver has to play their own hand. To rebuild you need assets. If they can get some picks to move back before they tank next year they should do it. We are to the point in our rebuild that we need to become more selective, they need to cast a wide net. If anything the Jazz getting Gobert from them and then drafting Hood at 23 is something they should be trying to emulate, not shy away from.

The depth of the 2nd round has deteriorated so much, I'm actually starting to think Chris Walker and Darrun Hillard might get drafted.

I'd be for moving both picks to move up even 1 or 2 spots. At 42 we previously would have got De Paula. Luwawu, Alexander, or Jaiteh.
Now were looking at Harrison, Tokoto, Dakari Johnson. Much lower ceilings.

Does anyone have any idea why Daniel Diez and Arturas Gudaitis are not listed in staying in or leaving the upcoming draft? DX doesn't have them listed anywhere but are still in their mock draft.

those players are automatically eligible for the draft because their born in 1993.. Next years auto-eligible international draftees will be born in '94, and so on and so forth...

Here's an aggressive trade scenario:

1) Jazz trade 12, Trevor Booker (can be waived), and a 2nd-rd pick for 9. We take back some salary.

2) Jazz trade 9 + Player X or future first for #7 or #6.

So 12 + Booker + 2nd + future first *might* get to #7 or #6, which could be Hezonja.

Charlotte gets Booker or Hunter, whom they like, plus a bit extra.

Denver or Sacto get #9 + future first + maybe another asset to drop back a 2 - 3 spots.

Jazz get the cheese.

I don't think there's any way to pull off that trade. Nobody's going to be eager to move down until they get a better idea of what the board looks like. To pull off one trade will be hard, two impossible. Taking back salary is a bad move also. I'd rather have the Jazz save their money and see how free agency goes. If they want to buy assets at the beginning of free agency, that would be a better plan IMO.

These trades won't happen until draft night so not sure you can climb the latter like that.

Also, Hornets will get better offers than that... Boston has been said to want to move there. I'd be willing to do 12 plus the OKC pick or our pick next year top 5 protected to get to 9 if Johnson, Hezonja, or Porz are there (WCS may fall and I don't think I'd move up for him). I think one of Porz, Hezonja, or WCS slips a bit on draft night just the way the teams are lined up. I think Detroit will take Johnson if Mario and Winslow are off the board.

Rumor has it that 8 is available... SVG mentioned he needs a backup center and a SF... wonder what we could cobble together.
