Following potential 2015 draftees

I'll be surprised if Oubre goes higher than 8, but I think he probably *should* go between 8 and 11 with Turner, Johnson and Kaminsky. The latter two are more likely to drop to 12, imo.

A big question is where teams rank Oubre vis a vis Winslow.

Oubre pretty impressive in those CHA workout vids. Hits 4-5 threes in a row a couple of times.

Looney seems to be to be going at a slow-motion pace. Am I seeing that right?

Based off of that workout vid, I don't think Oubre slides pass CHA at #9. I can see Jordan salivating at the chance of working with him. He just seems to be able to do everything effortlessly.

Notice how Booker has picture perfect form on his jumper, while Dekker and Oubre drift forward after jumping on there 3 point shots. A minor nuance that probably could be worked out over time.

Booker looked good in that workout, actually. He had a pretty decent handle and enough quickness to get past the scrubby guys guarding him.

I would trade 12 for 16 and 28. There is just so much value from 10-20 in this draft. Plus DL has hit with two guys in the twenties (Gobert, Hood).

If we trade back I'd rather get a future first. It would be nice to have multiple firsts/a lotto pick when we start making the playoffs. A lack of assets to refine the roster is what many teams lack when they finally crack the top half of the playoff seeding. We gotta get there but we don't want to go broke doing it.

If I'm not mistaken drifting forward slightly after making your jump shot is considered good form. You're not supposed to jump straight down.

Correct. those jumping straight up/down are depending more on knee flexion than whats necessary.

Kelly's shooting sure looks feathery in that Charlotte workout vid... As I noted with Hood last year, Oubre has a good chance at being one of the better lefty shooters in the league.

There's some interesting discrepancies between the DX top 100 list and their mock, I can't ever recall seeing such differences. A few things that stick out are;

- Kaminsky 9th and Porzingis 10th

- Rondae Hollis-Jefferson 13th and Kelly Oubre 16th

- Jonathan Holmes 24th

- Richaun Holmes 34th and Jarell Martin 39th

- Rashad Vaughn 38th and Terry Rozier 47th

Woj, on WFAN radio w/ @JoeandEvan, says: “So many teams want to trade up for Porzingis, that it could change the comple[x]ion of this draft…"

"With the 4th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, The Utah Jazz select - Kristaps Porzingis from Latvia"

Not sure. Years ago I heard someone talk about how Korver always lands where he jumped from, so I started doing it and felt like it helped my shot a lot.

Top 12? In some order. . .

Towns, Okafor, Russell, Porzingis, WCS, Hezonja, Winslow, Mudiay, Johnson, Turner, Oubre and Kaminsky?

Jazz should be delighted that the rise of Oubre and Turner makes this draft at least 12 solid. IMO, every team in the lottery has a chance to get a really, really good player. Some will work out, and others won't. . . but I'm pretty happy with where the Jazz are sitting. Especially if they decide to cash in some of those assets and make a run for a guy they love.
