Following potential 2015 draftees

Wow, I was not too familiar with McCullough until now. His highlights look really good. I like his length and athletic fluid game.

I have so many players I like in this draft. I hope we are able to get a 2nd first round pick.

If the Knicks draft Porzingis at #4, I'll say there's a 40% - 50% chance it's for the Jazz.

If they draft WCS, Hezonja or WCS, I'll say it's likely they're keeping the pick.

Chad Ford thinks they should just take Porzingis and be happy.

Why are you so hung up on this fantasy? It doesn't make sense and it's not happening. Favors has more value than this. Crazy that people on this board want to et rid of him for a euro who is far from a sure thing.

Whoever they take, I'd say the chance it is for the Jazz is about 0.0001%... I don't see it. To me it sounds preposterous in our situation. If you trade your franchise PF in the year you are supposed to contend for the playoffs what does that say to your other franchise players? How would Gordon react when he gets another weak 19 year old that needs to be baby-sat for 2-3 years before he produces? I think if that happens the chance of you losing Hayward in 2 years increases dramatically. I'd say he almost certainl bolts out of Utah and goes somewhere where he won't be made to waste his best years on a perpetually rebuilding team.

I agree it's a risky move, but not as preposterous as you've described. The Jazz are still developing Exum and Gobert for the next year or two. Porzingis is almost exactly the same age as Exum. The Jazz can bring in other vets via free agency to help them make the playoffs this year, but the time window the Jazz are rebuilding for is still a couple years out, by virtue of the PG situation alone. The Jazz don't want to be a #6 or #5 seed. They want to compete for the top echelon of the conference.

Where's Hayward going to go? Boston? Clippers?

Honestly, I don't know enough about Porzingis to judge it either way. I don't know enough about what Snyder wants to do to judge it either way. I'm just saying it's plausible for both the Knicks and the Jazz. I think it's a close call.

Yeah, it's becoming a fascination of mine. It's probably the biggest X-factor in the draft and it could involve the Jazz.

The Spence Checketts comments about pursuing Millsap when Dave Checketts has connections to the Knicks set me off a bit.

Its risky and it will cost the team millions of dollars to miss the playoffs for the next two-three years to develop this team. FO is not signing off on this risk, nor is the GM. But if you want to rebuild again I guess trade Hayward because he is going to be upset. doubt he wants to spend his best years with a rebuild team after going through that the last few years. And yes there are plenty of teams that want Hayward.

Porz, like most bigs is not helping us win games next year. Really shouldnt be starting and has little chance at becoming better than Favors ever.

I'd say it's certain that Porzingis is going to be better than Favors offensively. He probably is already. The question is how well he can defend at the 4.

Do you have any basis for this whatsoever, or just your hope that the Jazz somehow get Porzingas?

@Broncster: Are you saying the Jazz turned down Wiggins for Favors + 5 ??

Doesn't matter if they turned it down or if they offered it. That was last year when everybody on the team was fair game, when we had no direction and no identity. It was before Favors turned into a top 5 rim-protector in the league and increased his offensive production by 4 points per 36mins. It's a completely different situation and his value right now is completely different and the commitment of the team to him is completely different. When you have absolutely nothing going for your team, it's easier to part ways with talented but not realized pieces in an effort to improve. When you have the best defense in the league by a huge margin and some of the most formidable front courts, you don't split them before you have even tried to have a winning season.

If the jazz were to pick up millsap we make the playoffs next year imo
